Joanna Davidson Politano’s newest novel is utterly mesmerizing from start to finish – proving once again that when this author tells a story, her readers are in for a captivating journey! “Finding Lady Enderly” was published by Revell in the autumn of 2019, and was highly anticipated by fans of Joanna’s previous two novels. Each of her tales are masterfully written, combining a breathless plot with thought-provoking themes that cause us to ponder more carefully about subjects we may simply take for granted. In the case of Lady Enderly, we are urged, along with our heroine, to take a deeper look at the identities we possess, both inner and outer.
As we step into the world of one of London’s poorest districts in 1871, we meet Raina, a rag woman with a longing for so much more in her life. Soon, however, “Raina’s dreams are all about to come true. But some dreams turn out to be nightmares.” As Raina is swept into a tangled web of secrets and danger, she is forced to confront the lies that threaten to destroy all she holds dear.
While I must admit that this story didn’t work it’s way into my heart and imagination with quite the intensity of “A Rumored Fortune” (the previous book by Joanna, and my favorite read in all of 2018), “Finding Lady Enderly” is still an absolute masterpiece that kept me riveted to the pages, pondering the themes, and speculating as to what happy ending could possibly come from the mess Raina finds herself in. I highly recommend the book, and look forward to many more compelling tales to come from this incredibly talented author. Thank you, Joanna Davidson Politano, for your beautiful and deep-reaching stories, each one is a praiseworthy contribution to Christian Historical Fiction!
