The Perfect Summertime Read – guest review by Hayley

Book number one of the “Cape Cod Creamery” series was one of the best summertime books I have read in a while.  Which, of course, made me look forward to “The Secret To Happiness,” book number two in this lovely series.

There was so much to love about this book, where do I begin?  First, I enjoyed the recurring characters, and ongoing storylines and relationships from the first book.  I especially want to see how Marnie’s story progresses in the next instalment!

But what I loved most about this book was the idea of Holy Moments.  It was a beautiful, meaningful theme throughout the book.  The story can explain it better than I can, but I loved how practicing Holy Moments transformed the main character, and in such a really realistic way.  Looking for the Holy Moments in the day truly can transform your outlook and turn your life around in the best of ways.  This novel illustrated that masterfully, and I appreciated the wisdom, depth, and beauty of this story.

And the it is still a lot of fun too!  It is just as much the light (but impactful) summertime reading material that I have come to expect from Suzanne Woods Fisher’s “Cape Cod Creamery” series.  I absolutely recommend it, in the summertime, or any time.
