A Unique and Lyrical Historical Novel

“As a long-standing feud threatens to spark once more, the fates of two families rest on the most unexpected of shoulders”. With these words, I was immediately intrigued! “When Silence Sings” is the first novel I’ve read by Sarah Loudin Thomas, and I definitely enjoyed my journey-through-words back in time to 1930, and the hills of West Virginia. Although the residents of these backwoods communities may not know it, long-held secrets are about to be revealed, and the lies behind decades-old feuds are about to be unearthed. Continue reading

The Long-Anticipated Conclusion to the “Dive Team Investigations” series

At long last, the highly anticipated conclusion to Lynn H. Blackburn’s thrilling “Dive Team Investigations” series is available! “One Final Breath” released from Revell in the fall of 2019 and is a dramatic conclusion to one of my favorite Romantic Suspense sagas. If you enjoy this genre, I definitely recommend reading the talented Ms. Blackburn’s new release. However, I do suggest reading the two previous “Dive Team Investigations” first, in order to completely appreciate the depth of characterization and storytelling that is present. Continue reading

A Memorable Historical Novel Of A Grand Canyon Expedition!

My favorite genre of reading material is Christian Historical Fiction, but even I have to admit that sometimes the stories can be quite similar to each other. So, when a new novel releases that is completely out of the ordinary and is just, well, “special” – I get really excited! A new book from Revell publishers written by Regina Scott was just such a story… Why? “A Distance Too Grand” transports readers to the unique setting and premise of a Grand Canyon expedition set in 1871! Continue reading

Another Suspense-Filled St. John Family Adventure

The St. John family saga continues as Lincoln St. John gets his own story in Lynette Eason’s newest Romantic Suspense novel in the “Blue Justice” series: “Vow of Justice”. Published by Revell in the fall of 2019, this story kept me reading late at night as the breathless pace rose to a dramatic climax that was simply un-put-downable. Continue reading

A Thrilling Start to Ronie Kendig’s New Series

Master suspense author Ronie Kendig is back with a brand new series from Bethany House Publishers! “Storm Rising” is the first installment in “The Book of the Wars” series, and while it is a completely new story all it’s own, fans of “The Tox Files” will also recognize several familiar faces as the two stories overlap slightly. Continue reading

My Favorite Contemporary Romance In Years!

Are you looking for a book that will satisfy your inner romantic and your sweet tooth all in one clean, funny, well-written and absolutely charming novel? Well look no farther than “Sweet On You”, the last story in Becky Wade’s delightful “Bradford Sisters Romance” series. I have long been waiting for this one, largely because I loved Britt and Zander from the moment I was introduced to them in “True to You” (Book #1) and couldn’t wait to witness their story unfold. Although the wait was long, it was so worth it! Continue reading

Wow, What a Great Start to a New Series! – Guest Review by Hayley

“Come one, come all to the Brookstone Wild West Extravaganza!”  Who could turn down an invitation like that?  I certainly could not, and I’m glad to have accepted.  “When You are Near” by acclaimed author Tracie Peterson is the first book I have read by this author, but certainly will not be the last.  With a unique storyline centering around the star trick rider of the Brookstone Wild West Extravaganza, this novel is the first in a series to follow the stories of three ladies in this all-female performance. Continue reading

Another Thrilling Adventure From Carrie Stuart Parks

“Stolen art. A New Mexico archaeological dig. An abandoned dog. And a secret that’s worth killing for.” This summer, get ready for a story that will keep you reading until the wee hours of the morning, frantically flipping pages as the danger escalates and a tangled web of deception begins to unravel. “Fragments of Fear” is the newest Thomas Nelson release by Carrie Stuart Parks, and is definitely a thrill ride from start to finish. A Perfect Conclusion to a Memorable Historical Series

Amanda Cabot’s “Cimarron Creek Trilogry” has reached its conclusion, as “A Tender Hope” released from Revell Publishers earlier this spring. Although each novel in the series was a complete tale of its own, the overarching storylines that wove the books together are finally tied up in a satisfying conclusion for the characters we’ve already become acquainted with. Continue reading

History + Science + Fiction = A New Elizabeth Camden Novel

Elizabeth Camden’s stories are always compelling and engaging, capable of sweeping her readers away with incredible, historical feats of science and engineering that are revealed through the lens of (fictional) people living in that time period. Ms. Camden’s newest release from Bethany House, “A Desperate Hope”, is another sequel to a couple of her previous books, (“A Dangerous Legacy” and “A Daring Venture”) but can very easily be read on it’s own, as well. Continue reading
