You Won’t Be Able To Put It Down – Guaranteed!

I always eagerly anticipate the newest release by Jaime Jo Wright, simply because she is a masterful writer with stories of suspense and surprise that are truly unmatched, especially in the Christian genre.  The Lost Boys of Barlowe Theatre” contains all of her signature trademarks that her fans know and love, yet is still a unique and page-turning story that I couldn’t put down. ”A Beautiful Disguise” As Unique As It Is Enjoyable! – Guest Review by Hayley

Roseanna White’s last series “Secrets of the Isles,” were some of my favourite books of all time.  Sad as it was to see that series end, a new beginning awaits us all with the start of a new series “The Imposters.Continue reading

A Fascinating Saga Begins

And just when I thought I couldn’t love Kimberley Woodhouse’s books any more than I already did…. She releases a showstopper called “The Secrets Beneath”!  This story is truly incredible, both for it’s unique portrayal of paleontology in the 1800s and it’s richly drawn characters that never cease to surprise. Continue reading

The Only Bad Part Is… When We Reach The Final Page!

I can never pass up the opportunity to read new Christian Historical Fiction by an author I’ve enjoyed before…. Stephenia H. McGee impressed me last year with her story of “The Secrets of Emberwild”, so I was excited to discover what fictitious delights “The Swindler’s Daughter” would hold!   Continue reading

A Fair Warning – You Won’t Be Able To Put It Down!

Oh how I adored this book!  I’m not surprised, really, because Ann Gabhart’s name is on the cover and so OF COURSE it will be good, and it was!  In the Shadow of the River” is one of my favorite Christian Historical Fiction novels I’ve read in awhile, perhaps because of the sheer uniqueness of the setting – and the talent of bringing these interesting characters’ stories to life.  I also appreciated how well-drawn the backstory was, and how childhood memories played such a foundational role in how the story played out in our heroine’s adult life. A Practically Perfect Addition to the Genre

I was so excited to find out that one of my favorite author-duos is back with a brand new series for all of their loyal fans!  The Heart’s Choice” is the first story in Tracie Peterson and Kimberly Woodhouse’s new “Jewels of Kalispell” series, and what a fabulous start it was.  The story is compelling, the history is clearly well-researched and filled with fascinating tidbits, and as always the characters leap off the pages.  This story also features a murder mystery, and of course a sweet and lovely (and clean!) romance.   Continue reading

The Talent Of This Author – Amazing!

I truly don’t know how Jaime Jo Wright manages to bring forth so many new titles so quickly – but believe me, they never show even the slightest decline in content, quality, or imagination, I promise!  To the contrary, “The Vanishing at Castle Moreau” is actually one of my favorites of her novels to date.   Continue reading

A High-Stakes Alaskan Adventure

Cold Light of Day” is an action-packed new novel by Elizabeth Goddard that had me flipping pages as quickly as I could, even late into the night, in order to discover how this secret web of Alaskan intrigue would be unraveled.  As the first book in the “Missing in Alaska” series, this novel takes off with a flying start.  It is action-packed but features a strong and compelling storyline as well – plus characters who leap off the pages and into our mind’s eye.   Continue reading

You Won’t Be Able to Put It Down – If You Dare To Pick It Up!

I don’t know how she does it… Jaime Jo Wright never fails to deliver a story that is simultaneously haunting yet redemptive, atmospheric yet spiritual, and macabre yet beautiful.  Talk about a fascinating juxtaposition of themes!  The Premonition at Withers Farm” is one of the most gripping novels I’ve read in a long while, as the mystery and murder sweeping through a small town in the year 1910 brings mayhem and unexplainable intentions.  The unexpected part?  It seems to be happening again, in the same town, but this time in the present day… Continue reading

The Adventures of the McQuaid Family Continue

Jody Hedlund’s “Colorado Cowboys” series continues with the fourth story of the adventurous McQuaid siblings.  This time it is the only sister Ivy getting the spotlight, as “Falling for the Cowgirl” ropes us into a dramatic adventure.

From the start, I always guessed who Ivy’s hero would be…
Jericho Bliss.  I knew this simply because we’ve witnessed her feelings for him grow and continue throughout the previous three books in the series, and it is high time this romance was brought to the forefront and given the attention it deserved!  Ivy as a protagonist is both entertaining and frustrating, because although her big heart cannot be ignored, her strong will is sometimes hard to take.  Jericho’s intentions towards her, to protect her from his own life choices, are admirable but as he quickly discovers, feelings can sometimes derail our best intentions. Continue reading
