“Cold Light of Day” is an action-packed new novel by Elizabeth Goddard that had me flipping pages as quickly as I could, even late into the night, in order to discover how this secret web of Alaskan intrigue would be unraveled. As the first book in the “Missing in Alaska” series, this novel takes off with a flying start. It is action-packed but features a strong and compelling storyline as well – plus characters who leap off the pages and into our mind’s eye. Continue reading

You Won’t Be Able to Put It Down – If You Dare To Pick It Up!
I don’t know how she does it… Jaime Jo Wright never fails to deliver a story that is simultaneously haunting yet redemptive, atmospheric yet spiritual, and macabre yet beautiful. Talk about a fascinating juxtaposition of themes! “The Premonition at Withers Farm” is one of the most gripping novels I’ve read in a long while, as the mystery and murder sweeping through a small town in the year 1910 brings mayhem and unexplainable intentions. The unexpected part? It seems to be happening again, in the same town, but this time in the present day… Continue reading
The Adventures of the McQuaid Family Continue
Jody Hedlund’s “Colorado Cowboys” series continues with the fourth story of the adventurous McQuaid siblings. This time it is the only sister Ivy getting the spotlight, as “Falling for the Cowgirl” ropes us into a dramatic adventure.
From the start, I always guessed who Ivy’s hero would be…
Jericho Bliss. I knew this simply because we’ve witnessed her feelings for him grow and continue throughout the previous three books in the series, and it is high time this romance was brought to the forefront and given the attention it deserved! Ivy as a protagonist is both entertaining and frustrating, because although her big heart cannot be ignored, her strong will is sometimes hard to take. Jericho’s intentions towards her, to protect her from his own life choices, are admirable but as he quickly discovers, feelings can sometimes derail our best intentions. Continue reading
A Beautiful Story Featuring A Very Special Character
I don’t know how she does it, but Stephenia H. McGee’s new release from Revell is so vivid and real in my imagination that it feels more like a movie than a novel! “The Secrets of Emberwild” is a beautiful, sweeping, and unforgettable story that I adored from start to finish, and if you enjoy Christian Historical Fiction it should definitely be high on your to-read list as well. Continue reading
An Un-Relaxing Hawaiian Vacation!
Are you ready for a peaceful, relaxing vacation to the quiet beaches of idyllic Hawaii? Well, if so, you’d better look elsewhere – this is definitely not the book for you, lol! “Elysium Tide” does take place in Hawaii, but it is also a fast-paced, twisting and turning, thrilling and unpredictable suspense novel from start to finish. There is no relaxing to be found within these pages! I have never before read a story by James R. Hannibal, but this talented author is definitely added to my reading list now for any future releases. Continue reading
Incredibly Vivid and Atmospheric
Atmospheric. Riveting. Haunting. Unforgettable. All these words and many others have already been used to describe Jaime Jo Wright’s newest release from Bethany House Publishers, but I will use them again because you simply cannot explain “The Souls of Lost Lake” without them! Even though I finished this novel several days ago, just naming the title transports me back into the story that is so masterfully written, I truly felt as though I was there. I can picture each scene and location vividly, and watch as the characters step out of the mist and into my vision. It is almost creepy, actually, how real this story feels! Continue reading
The Gripping Conclusion to the Windy City Saga
We can always depend on Jocelyn Green to bring us a heart-wrenching, soul-inspiring story that keeps us on the edge of our seats, as she sweeps us back in time and brings historical events to life through fiction. I have long been awaiting the conclusion to “The Windy City Saga”, and it was finally released by Bethany House Publishers this spring – yay! “Drawn by the Current” is as unforgettable as the previous stories in the series, and our heroine, Olive Pierce, is a woman I can certainly relate to in ways both big and small. Continue reading
This New Series Has Potential
“Lights Out” is the first book in Natalie Walters’ new “Snap Agency” series from Revell Publishers, and as you may have guessed from the title it falls into the Romantic Suspense genre. The characters who form the Snap team are the driving force behind this novel’s success, because they are well-drawn individuals with secrets, goals, and hidden pasts – plus plenty of potential to carry this series forward for at least several more books. Continue reading
A Complex, Twisting & Turning Story – Guest Review by Hayley
“The Barrister And The Letter of Marque” is easily among the most intriguing novels I have read this year, or any year for that matter. Continue reading
Breathtaking. …
I wait with breathless anticipation for each of Joanna Davidson Politano’s new books. When “A Midnight Dance” released from Revell, I was so excited to curl up during a peaceful afternoon and dive into Ms. Politano’s captivating new world of ballet – and then chaos struck our family. I found myself instead reading this long-anticipated novel in the waiting room of a hospital – and perhaps this made the story even more poignant and thought-provoking. At first it was a little difficult to ‘get into’, probably because of all the distractions in my life at the time. But once I was ‘in’, oh my, it was hard to come back out! Continue reading
