Destined To Become A Classic Coming Of Age Story

This book… I’m certain it’s destined to become a classic, truly.  It’s so multidimensional, it has so many different elements of living life and growing up and finding your place in the world…  and it somehow manages to speak to readers across the board, regardless of our experience, age, past, or present.  The Best Summer Of Our Lives” is the newest release by Rachel Hauck, and I hands-down describe it as a work of art.

The girls in this story, as they reveal their deepest thoughts and realest challenges and most crushing despairs, come to life and feel like friends – not only with each other, but with me too!  In fact, although I may not have experienced their unique set of joys and sorrows, their reaction to life in general is a teachable moment for those with hearts open to hearing truth and wisdom.  Even the mysterious visions of Jesus were something that deeply impacted me, for I’ve felt similarly at times.

I didn’t relate to any one character in particular more than any others, but rather different elements of each of their lives touched my heart in different ways.  Summer, with her search for meaning; Spring, as she realizes she can’t always be ‘the good girl’; Snow, who holds a secret far too close for far too long; and Autumn, who desperately wants to fix things for her loved ones.  Each girl, and each of their families, weave together in an intricate, messy, raw, and beautiful tapestry that creates “The Best Summer Of Our Lives”.  Truly, if you are looking for the book that will top off your summer reading list in a memorable and even life-changing way, I highly recommend that you find a copy of this one, before the summer ends.  You won’t regret it for a moment, and it may even help you bring your own ‘best summer’ to life.
