What a unique story this was, on so many levels…. “This Is Where It Ends” by Cindy Sproles is a slow, contemplative, redemptive, and far-reaching novel that is best slowly savored and explored, chapter by chapter.  It is repetitive, but in a way that makes the characters more real because, after all, life’s struggles can be repetitive, can’t they?

The overarching questions that are embedded at the core of this story are resolved in very unexpected ways, and yet in some ways they unfold in exactly the way perhaps we always knew they would… if that makes sense!  Family isn’t always related by blood, just as love doesn’t always look the same for everybody – but that doesn’t make it any less real if it is shown in the way God planned for His family.  

“This Is Where It Ends” is a story of contradictions and questions, each one making us ponder our own lives in a different way.  You will not be the same after reading this story, I’m certain of that… and perhaps your takeaway values will be different than mine.  Because, it’s just that type of tale – vague but meaningful, memorable yet never quite something you fully grasp in your hand.  And that is exactly why I recommend this novel as a unique reading experience that will whet your appetite for more from this talented author.
