After finishing Ted Dekker’s new release “The 49th Mystic”, I was eagerly anticipating its sequel “Rise of the Mystics”. After experiencing the profound nature of the 49th, I wondered if this sequel would live up to my expectations. The answer is yes – a hundred times yes.
I am convinced that this book is divinely inspired. The Biblical teachings found in these pages have given me a radically deeper perspective on the teachings of Jesus, and of Paul. Honestly, I’m still sorting it out in my head, and hope to read this book again to gain a deeper understanding of the many messages contained in its pages.
Yet, even with all that I learned from this book, I would not want you to think that it is lacking in plot. That could not be further from the truth! All of these teachings and insights are wrapped up in a twisting and turning plot with enough shocks in it that I truly and honestly did not know if even the heroine herself would live to tell about it.
I would also like to mention that Thomas Hunter plays a prominent role in this story. Those who have read Thomas’s story will definitely enjoy revisiting him both on Earth and in Other Earth. If you are like me, however, and have not yet read “The Circle Series”, you can certainly still enjoy Ted Dekker’s two newest releases.
The two books that comprise the “Beyond the Circle” series are two of the most powerful stories I have ever read, and I encourage you to step into the world of “The 49th Mystic” and join the band of truth-seekers for the “Rise of the Mystics”. They will sweep you away in an epic tale that could only have been written because the author first heard the story from God.
