“A Deep Divide” is the first book I’ve read with Kimberley Woodhouse as the sole author.  I’ve previously read books she has co-written in collaboration with Tracie Peterson, but what a joy it was to see Kimberley’s voice shine all on its own!  Published by Bethany House, this story is the first in the “Secrets of the Canyon” series, and I am so looking forward to reading more stories set in this breathtaking and unique location.  From the first pages, this novel captured my attention and held it right until the end – with a sweet romance, nerve-wracking mystery, and lovable characters, I truly had a hard time putting the book down.  

Not only did the unique storyline of “A Deep Divide” sweep me away, but the rich historical details intrigued me as well.  I loved learning about the Harvey Girls’ way life in the early 1900s, and the unique details about all the Harvey establishments throughout the United States.  Of course the Grand Canyon is like a character of the story itself, and I enjoyed the interesting facts sprinkled into the narrative about this world wonder as well.  

All in all, I highly recommend this new story, and series, by Kimberley Woodhouse.  She is a very talented author and I am grateful to see her stories coming to life with a special flavour all her own – no co-author required!
