Truly a “Legacy Work”

When a highly respected Christian author (who has written dozens of books that have inspired and transformed the lives of women of all ages for many years) pens a new volume that is being described as her “legacy work”, I think it is worthwhile to take a look at it…wouldn’t you agree? Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth, a wise author who clearly strives to align her writing with God’s will and His Word, has released a new book from Moody Publishers entitled “Adorned: Living Out the Beauty of the Gospel Together”. Based on the book of Titus in the Bible, and specifically the Titus 2 mandate for women, Nancy’s words shine a spotlight on the beauty, insight, and wisdom of living life in step with “God’s good and beautiful plan”.

Why is a book about the Titus 2 model for women entitled “Adorned”? Well, because I love this portion of the book so much, I’ll let Nancy explain:

“You see, God has placed us here on earth as ambassadors of the gospel of Christ. And our calling as His followers is to make His love and His truth visible and believable – and beautiful – to skeptical observers… His love making us beautiful. Adorning us. And, through us, adorning His gospel…. we all need each other if we are to adorn the gospel and show its beauty in our lives. And that reality brings us back to Titus 2 and the heart of this book. Because this important passage offers a primer for how and why this all works.”

Isn’t that beautiful? Inspiring? Encouraging? But…

If you are like me, you might be wondering if “Adorned” is just another book filled with inspiring images of the lofty peaks of biblical womanhood, but in your heart you feel unequipped to scale those heights yourself… Let me assure you that this book is different. It is filled with practical, day-to-day, “doable” wisdom and advice for Christian women of all ages. It is real, and it is relatable. And so, even if you’ve never read a book by Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth, I highly encourage you not to miss this one. It is worth your time, I promise.

I received this book courtesy of Moody Publishers in exchange for an honest review. All opinions expressed are my own.
