Becky Wade has become a must-read author for me – each time she releases something new, it quickly goes to the very top of my reading list!  “Let It Be Me” is the second book in the “Misty River Romance” series, and it was the best contemporary romance I’ve read in a long while. . .  Published by Bethany House during the hot days of summer 2021, this book captivated me from start to finish, and was a balm for my heart as I relished each page of these two memorable characters’ stories.  

With the shocking discovery that she is not the biological child of her parents, Leah Montgomery’s world is shaken.  At the same time, Sebastian Grant is hit hard when he finds his heart falling for Leah, only to discover that his best friend has the same feelings about her.  This is the basic premise for “Let It Be Me”, but believe me when I say there is sooooo much more to the story – past hurts and traumas are brought to light and healed, hidden and not-so-hidden dreams are uncovered and given new life, and a sweet romance springs out of the most unlikely circumstances.  Very few writers can weave such a compelling contemporary story with as many layers, depth, and themes of growth as Becky Wade can!

I adored this faith-filled story so much, and I highly recommend.  Although it is connected to the first story in the series, it could also be read as a stand-alone novel.  And, after being briefly introduced, I can’t wait to see what is in store for the next pair of characters in “Misty River Romance” book #3 set to release next year.

If you are looking for a new contemporary romance to enjoy this summer, one that is inspirational and compelling, one that causes you to be so deeply invested in the characters that you can barely put it down to sleep or eat or go to work, I highly recommend “Let It Be Me” by the beloved Becky Wade!
