This Middle Story Is Filled With Surprises!

The long-awaited second story in Kimberley Woodhouse’s “Secrets of the Canyon” series is finally here!  Published by Bethany House in the late summer of 2022, “A Gem of Truth” was an unexpected and delightful journey of discovery – in more ways than one.

If you are wondering how the second book in the “Secrets of the Canyon” series fits with the first, it is quite simple – the setting of the El Tovar Hotel on the rim of the Grand Canyon is the same, it’s just our protagonists who differ.  With a heroine who has a reputation as a terrible liar, a hero whose entire life’s work is about to be pulled out from under him, and a legendary treasure that will change both their lives in shocking ways… let’s just say there is never a dull moment in this tale.

Ruth Anniston is once again a VIP character as well, and as before she is a voice of wisdom and truth to all the girls in her care.  When Ruth’s story takes a twist, we are left holding our breath for the next book – which will finally feature her as the main character.

As always I enjoyed this new release from Kimberley Woodhouse very much, and found the research, historical backdrop, and interesting storyline to weave together into an exciting tale that captured my attention from start to finish.  If you enjoy Christian Historical Fiction that is packed with faith, adventure, and gentle romance, I definitely recommend “A Gem of Truth” – but suggest you start out with the previous book in the “Secrets of the Canyon” saga first!
