The long-awaited second story in Kimberley Woodhouse’s “Secrets of the Canyon” series is finally here!  Published by Bethany House in the late summer of 2022, “A Gem of Truth” was an unexpected and delightful journey of discovery – in more ways than one. Continue reading

Journey To The Emerald Isle With A New Voice In Historical Fiction

I am always excited to meet a new author through the pages of their debut novel, and this month I became acquainted with the talented new voice of Jennifer Deibel. “A Dance in Donegal” was published by Revell earlier this year, and is a richly atmospheric story set in Ireland, 1921. Although it started out light and gentle, it soon became apparent this story was much deeper – and darker – than first impressions led me to believe. Continue reading

Amara Alvarez Is Back!

After reading Tom Threadgill’s novel entitled “Collision of Lies” last year, I was hooked by this author’s talent for creating vivid characters and combining them with a fast-paced, intricate web of secrets and lies – all of which add up to a can’t-put-down mystery novel. Published by Revell earlier this year, “Network of Deceit” continues the story of Detective Amara Alvarez as she tackles her newest investigation. It appears to be a case of overdose and heatstroke by a teenager at a local waterpark – until a tiny detail comes to light that shows perhaps something more sinister is afoot… something like murder. Unputdownable. “The Reckoning at Gossamer Pond”, Jaime Jo Wright’s newest release from Bethany House, weaves an unforgettable chain of events into a story that encases one mystery inside another – spanning more than a century of deception and intrigue. From the first page, you will be tugged into a world filled with dark secrets and hair-raising encounters, as “Two women, separated by a hundred years, must unravel the mysteries of their own town before it’s too late and they lose their future – or their very souls”. A Beautiful Debut Novel by Rachel Fordham

It’s no secret that my favorite genre of reading material is Christian Historical Fiction. When I discover a new author who possesses a special gift for bringing this beautiful genre to life with strong writing skills, themes that whisper of biblical wisdom and truth, and realistic characters who leap off the pages, well… it’s exciting to say the least! After reading the description for a new debut novel published by Revell in the summer of 2018, I guessed this would be just such a story – and I was correct. “The Hope of Azure Springs” is the first published novel by Rachel Fordham, and is a sweet and memorable story that will instantly earn a place on your keeper bookshelf – and in your heart. The Title Says it All… “Enough: Silencing the Lies that Steal Your Confidence”

I have only read a couple of Sharon Jaynes’ books, but with each one I always reach the end with a sense of greater knowledge and deeper understanding of God’s Word. I believe this is the result of Sharon truly listening to God’s voice as she writes. Her newest book, “Enough: Silencing the Lies That Steal Your Confidence” is actually a revised edition of an earlier work, but is a first-time read for me. Published by Harvest House, this book helps answer the question I think all women have asked, “What can you do when you feel you’re just not good enough?” Continue reading

Discover the Adamant Inside

Sometimes it is hard to find the words to describe a non-fiction book that challenged you, inspired you, and made you think in new ways. . . You want to tell everyone why they should read the book too, but can’t exactly put into words how it affected you and why it will affect them. “Adamant: Finding Truth in a Universe of Opinions” is bestselling author Lisa Bevere’s new release from Revell, and is unquestionably a book that is destined to influence women of all ages, initiate lasting change, and inspire the quest for truth within our hearts. Another Powerful Book by Clayton King (Guest Review by Tracy)

Clayton King has done it again – he has written a book so powerful it is life-changing. Clayton King has a gift, without question, of delivering God’s message to us, the folks who need and want to hear it. My favorite chapter of Clayton’s new book “Overcome: Replacing the Lies That Hold Us Down with the Truths That Set Us Free” was Chapter 4 – Understand the Purpose of Suffering. I’m coming through a season of suffering, and I am thankful to Clayton for helping me understand more. This chapter came from God, through Clayton, to me. Thank you. Continue reading
