Can You Believe, The Ninth Hope Harbor Novel Is Here!

My summer would not be complete without a visit to the seaside town of Hope Harbor, ‘where hearts heal… and love blooms.’  (And where Charlie’s fish tacos make my mouth water with every mention!)  Irene Hannon has been writing these stories for 9 years now, can you believe it?  Yes, “Windswept Way” is the 9th annual installment in the “Hope Harbor” series, and we have already been promised that a 10th novel is in the works for spring of 2024.  (Hurray!)

I enjoyed how this story not only brought old characters in for cameos while spotlighting new protagonists, but it also highlighted a fresh locale within the area that I don’t remember being mentioned before – so it was a surprise for me.  One thing that didn’t change a bit, though, is the wisdom, slow pace, and community spirit of the town which never fails to draw me in.

The overall story was the typical, sweet, enjoyable new-beginning and new-romance story – although I felt the physical attraction between the hero and heroine was a bit overdone… they seemed to fall in love based on chemistry as the most important aspect of all, which was disappointing.

But, other than this little flaw, I was delighted to revisit what feels like a yearly holiday destination.  If Hope Harbor was a real place, I’m quite sure it would have tripled in size by now with all of Ms. Hannon’s faithful fans relocating to this lovely town!  If you are looking for a relaxing summer read, definitely check out “Windswept Way” – and if you haven’t already, the previous eight stories that came before it too!
