”A Beautiful Disguise” As Unique As It Is Enjoyable! – Guest Review by Hayley

Roseanna White’s last series “Secrets of the Isles,” were some of my favourite books of all time.  Sad as it was to see that series end, a new beginning awaits us all with the start of a new series “The Imposters.

And, my goodness, the plot of this series is quite the ride.  Private investigators hidden in plain sight to uncover the secrets of the aristocracy–who can resist such a hook?  Certainly not me, and I’m happy to be back in a series from this author.

While I believe that “Secrets of the Isles” will likely remain my favourite series by Roseanna White, “The Imposters” has certainly captured my attention and admiration as well.  I enjoyed the brother-sister duo. Although Marigold is the main character of this book, I was glad to read in the author’s note that her brother will have his story told as well.

I enjoyed the woven-in theme of true friendship.  While we often throw around the word “friend,” quite casually, I really appreciated the deeper look that this book takes on the word “friendship” and what it means on a deeper, spiritual level.

I would have to say one of the most unique aspects of this book was the setting of the Fairfax estate.  It is, essentially, a former circus ground, complete with the animals and performers you would expect to see in such a place.  And if you are wondering the purpose of the circus and its performers, well, the Imposters will have to show you the answer to that.
