Once again Liz Johnson takes us on a sweet vacation to the beloved little Canadian island in her newest release of the “Prince Edward Island Dreams” series. “Where Two Hearts Meet” was published by Revell in the autumn of 2016, and continues the story of “The Red Door Inn”, but this time with two different protagonists – one a familiar face, and one a newcomer.
The best way to enjoy “Where Two Hearts Meet” is to read it in sequence with the series, as this story definitely builds on its predecessor. With a lovely setting, sweet romance, and relaxing plot, this novel is a light and pleasant read. Going any further than that, however, would be stretching the depth of its merits. Lacking the charm of the previous book in the series, “Where Two Hearts Meet” falls flat in several ways, including character motivation and depth, originality, and even excitement. This is not to say that it is a “bad” book in any way, but it simply did not meet my expectations set by “The Red Door Inn“.
If you, like me, are looking to take an armchair vacation to the magical land of P.E.I., this book might be your ticket – so long as you don’t expect a story that will blow you away with its originality and charm.
I am grateful to have received a copy of this book from Revell Reads, free of charge, in exchange for an honest review. All opinions expressed are my own.
