Gentle, Comforting, Encouraging – Guest Review by Hayley

“Hope Your Heart Needs” by popular author Holly Gerth is a lovely little addition to the devotional genre.  Published by Revell in 2018, “Hope Your Heart Needs” is the newest title in the growing list of books by this author.

First, I must say that this is a very pretty little book, with a padded hardcover, decorative fonts, and a warming image of a teacup.  The chapters inside are short, excellent to just pick up and read when you don’t have a lot of time.  The chapters can either be read in order, or you can scan the contents at the front and choose the one that pops out to you on that particular day.

The writing style is warm and approachable – much like a friend.  I would recommend this book to those who are new to the Christian faith, or to those still considering a relationship with God.  Those who have already been pursuing this relationship for a length of time may not find much new information in this book, but at the same time it might also feel comforting on hard days.

Filled with gentle encouragement, “Hope Your Heart Needs” will be great for those looking for short, sweet devotionals to read regularly, or to give as a gift to a loved one.

I received this book courtesy of Revell Publishing, in exchange for an honest review. All opinions expressed in this review are my own.
