So Delightful 🌺 🌸 â˜€ď¸

I ADORE Hope Lyda’s books!  Her newest release from Harvest House Publishers is an extra-special one, because it is an interactive, one-of-a-kind, fresh little devotional entitled “What Do You Need Today? Simple Encouragement for Real-Life Moments”.  In this book, Hope writes as though she is best friends with us, her readers, as she takes the lead and guides us on a fun and fruitful journey of infusing discovery and adventure into our daily lives. A New Look At The Fruits Of The Spirit

“How God Loves Us: 40 Days to Discovering His Character in the Fruit of the Spirit” is a new book from Moody Publishers written by Jessica Thompson.  This special little volume initially drew my attention because it takes such a unique approach to the Fruits of the Spirit as defined in the book of Galatians.  Why?  Because with Jessica as our guide, we step into the truth that it is because God loves us in these ways – joyfully, peacefully, patiently, kindly, with goodness, faithfully, gently, and with self-control – that we can love others in this way too.   Continue reading

I Can’t Wait For December To Read This Book!

The air is turning colder, the days are getting shorter, and only a few tenacious leaves are still clinging to the trees.  You know what that means – Christmas is just around the corner!  And although we may try to deny it, with the holiday season usually comes busyness, stress, and the pressures to do and buy and go and see even more.  But, as beloved author Susie Larson says, what if there is a different way this year?  “Prepare Him Room: A Daily Advent Devotional” from Bethany House Publishers is a beautiful little volume that challenges us to ask the question: What matters most this Christmas season? Continue reading

GirlDefined’s First Devotional Is Awesome!

I have read each and every one of Kristen Clark and Bethany Beal’s books, and I was so excited to see them release a devotional for the first time this spring!  “Shine Bright: 60 Days to Becoming a Girl Defined by God” is a beautiful little hardcover from BakerBooks, and more importantly, the inside is packed with 60 daily doses of hope, reflection, and guidance for getting into God’s word.

A Beautiful Easter Tradition for Families

Are you like me, with the Easter season always seeming to sneak up on us until we suddenly realize that Good Friday is only a few days away? This is often how I feel, and so when I discovered Asheritah Ciuciu’s new Lenten-season devotional from Moody Publishers, I was so excited to use it as a way to prepare spiritually for the celebration of Jesus’ resurrection. Continue reading

A Beautiful 2-in-1 Cookbook and Devotional

Asheritah Ciuciu is an author of many talents – so much so that her new book is really two books in one: a cookbook and a devotional! “Bible & Breakfast: 31 Mornings with Jesus” is a lovely hardcover book from Moody Publishers with dozens of full-color food photographs and recipes, plus it is a multi-use devotional. Continue reading

Stretch Your Creativeness – Guest Review by Tracy

“Created for More: 30 Days to Seeing Your World In a New Way” is a small book, perfect for picking up and reading a bit at a time.  The subtitle of this book is exactly right.  It enables you to see your world in a new way.  I didn’t read it in 30 days, instead I read one devotional (about 3 pages long), and thought about, used, and applied these words for a few days.  Then when I felt ready I would read the next one, and do the same thing again.  Continue reading

The Perfect Way to Start Your Day

Susie Larson is an author I greatly respect, and whenever a new book releases with her name on it I quickly try and add it to my reading list. Her newest volume from Bethany House Publishers is entitled “Blessings for the Soul: Words of Grace and Peace for Your Heart”. This lovely little book is packaged as a floral hardcover with a ribbon bookmark and thick pages that are printed with botanic designs – but the true merit comes from the words on the pages. . .
