Well, that was a thrill-ride of a novel! “Kings Falling” is Ronie Kendig’s second story in “The Book of the Wars” series from Bethany House, and I’m certain it was even more exciting and un-put-downable than the first! From page one I was swept by the race against time as Leif Metcalfe and his team try to recover the ancient and world-altering Book of the Wars – but they aren’t the only ones looking for it, and there is so much more going on behind the scenes than anyone could imagine.
“Kings Falling” is one of my favorite Ronie Kendig novels to date, because not only was it extremely suspenseful and well-written, but it also seemed a little easier to understand and follow what exactly was going on with each plot-within-the-plot. My only issue with the story was: the shocking cliffhanger ending! I mean, what was that about?! Now we have to wait for months to find out what Leif does to… well, I’d better not say any more than that. You’ll have to read the book to find out, but if you can’t tolerate cliffhangers you’d better wait until closer to the release of book number three!
