Hurray! A new series by Jennifer Delamere begins! “Line by Line” is the first book in her “Love Along the Wires” series, and I adored each page of this delightful Christian Historical novel from Bethany House. Set in London in 1880, this is a story that is compelling, witty, and sweetly romantic – with plenty of unexpected twists to keep readers guessing along the way.

At first I thought “Line by Line” was going to be a feministic story filled with the movement for women’s rights and independence, and all the things that go along with that. (That’s not to say this is a bad thing, but I don’t generally care for stories that lean too much towards the “women don’t need men at all” mindset). Anyways, this wasn’t ultimately the case in this story, and I was glad to see the heroine gradually soften and begin to realize that changing her plans and accepting love and romance into her life did not mean she had to give up her dreams or stifle her curious mind. . . On the contrary, she realized that when God has a plan for your life, you can be sure that he has provided you with the talent, personality traits, and relationships needed to fulfill it!

If you are a fan of Jennifer Delamere (as I am), if you adore Christian Historical Fiction (me again!), and if you are looking for a new series to begin, I highly recommend “Line by Line”. It is a delightful story from start to finish, and I cannot wait for the next book in the series to be released soon!
