A Great Continuation of the “Elite Guardians” Series

without-warning-imageAlthough Christian Romantic Suspense is not my go-to genre of choice, I am happy to be swept away by one filled with mystery, intrigue, and excitement once in a while. Last year I enjoyed “Always Watching”, the first book in Lynette Eason’s “Elite Guardians” series published by Revell, and recently had the chance to read the second installment entitled “Without Warning”. Just who are the Elite Guardians, you ask? As the tagline for the series explains: “Intensity. Skill. Tenacity. The Bodyguards of Elite Guardians Agency Have It All.”

The heroine of “Without Warning” is, you guessed it, a bodyguard with the Elite Guardians. Introduced in the previous novel as a minor secondary character, Katie Singleton has a painful past which she is forced to confront in order to save the lives of people she loves in the present. When Daniel Matthews becomes the target of a vengeful scheme, it quickly becomes apparent that his enemies will stop at nothing to remove him from the picture – permanently. Together, Katie and Daniel must piece together a constantly-changing plan to remain one step ahead of disaster, and to stop a killer from striking again.

Although the suspense of this novel is not quite as palpable as the previous “Elite Always Watching imageGuardians” story, it will undoubtedly keep you on the edge of your seat as you breathlessly turn the pages to discover whose diabolical scheme is at play. With very little inappropriate content, reasonably realistic scenes and characters, and surprises at every turn, this book really is a winner on many levels. The next time you need a fix of action and suspense, why not choose “Without Warning”?

I am grateful to have received a copy of this book from Revell Reads, free of charge, in exchange for an honest review. All opinions expressed are my own.
