“Battle Ready: Train Your Mind to Conquer Challenges, Defeat Doubt, and Live Victoriously”. Wow! With a title like that, you certainly expect a book that is filled with actionable and practical wisdom, and Bible-based strategies to help us walk fully and courageously in the plans (and on the path) that God has for us. Does this book deliver on this expectation?  Absolutely!

Written by Kelly Balarie and published by Baker Books, “Battle Ready” is a wonderful resource to help us: make new habits (that stick), disarm the attacks of the enemy, implement mind-lifting strategies that deliver the peace of God’s Word, create boundaries, and so, so much more. The book is divided into twelve Warrior Mindsets, that, when boiled down, are based on: Possibility, Identity, Sensitivity, Activity, Humility, Objectivity, Bounce-Back Ability, Simplicity, Eternity, Positivity, Intensity, and Impossibility. Of course these simple but mighty words are just the bare-bones of the book… Each Warrior Mindset chapter is packed with powerful insights and wisdom that is sectioned into easy-to-read-and-remember points, keys, lists, game-plans, strategies, diagrams, and more. Additionally, each chapter closes out with a study section for both personal and small-group use.

Without question, “Battle Ready” is not a book that will be going on my shelf to collect dust – it will stay on my nightstand as a title that I can access easily and re-read often! It is a dive-in, doable book that is truly life-changing and I honestly can’t recommend it enough. If you are ready for “a hands-on scriptural plan that teaches you twelve easy-to-implement, confidence-building mind-sets designed to transform your thoughts and, therefore, your life” don’t hesitate a minute longer.
