When I pick up a book by Susie Larson, I know that I will be challenged, humbled, and provided with so much wisdom and godly strength that I will not be able to remain unchanged after reading it. “Strong in Battle: Why the Humble Will Prevail” is her newest release from Bethany House Publishers, and is perhaps her most powerful work yet. I honestly gained so much from this book that it’s hard to describe… but I shall do my best, because it deserves accolades in abundance. Continue reading

I Can See Why 400,000 Copies of This Book Have Been Sold
What does the word “revival” mean exactly? “Revival is what happens when God’s people, whether individually or corporately, are restored to a right relationship with Him.” Although this is a simple explanation, the process and results are nothing short of supernatural. If words of revival are being whispered in your heart, you may be ready for this transformative experience in your own life – and a newly revised and updated book from Moody Publishers and written by Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth and Tim Grissom is a wonderful first step in that direction. An Incredible, Interactive New Title in the “Discovering the Bible Series”
Do you enjoy interactive Bible studies – books that are packed with ideas and activities to creatively engage with God’s word in exciting new ways? I adore these types of studies, and was delighted when a new book in the “Discovering the Bible Series” was released. “Discovering Joy in Philippians: A Creative Bible Study Experience” was brought to life by Pam Farrel, Jean E. Jones, and Karla Dornacher, and follows in the footsteps of their first book in the series, “Discovering Hope in the Psalms”. Continue reading
Another Exceptional Volume from Hannah Anderson
The first book I read by Hannah Anderson was “All That’s Good: Recovering the Lost Art of Discernment”. I was so impressed by this challenging book that I knew I wanted to read her previously-released titles as well, and was delighted with the opportunity to read “Humble Roots: How Humility Grounds and Nourishes Your Soul”. Published by Moody in 2016, this book is for those whose hearts respond with longing to a simple yet powerful invitation, spoken in the Bible by Jesus himself: “Feeling worn thin? Come find rest.” Continue reading

A Getle Yet Powerful Little Book
I have come to adore many of Lysa TerKeurst’s books and devotionals, written on many topics and for women of all ages. With her signature blend of gentle warmth and stories we can relate to, she guides readers to step into the best that God has for them. One of the books that she wrote earlier in her career has now been re-released from Harvest House Publishers, and is entitled “What Happens When Women Say Yes to God: Live More Fully, Love More Deeply, Experience God’s Best For You”. This sweet yet powerful little book is not only packed with Lysa’s wisdom and experience at living a life of “yes” to God, it also includes a Bible study at the end of each chapter to enrich her words with God’s timeless truths. How Did God Wire Us to Handle Money?
Have you ever wondered how you, and someone close to you, can view the concepts of money and finances (spending, saving, sharing, etc.) in such vastly different ways? If so, you are not alone! In fact, to shed brilliant light on this eye-opening concept, pastor and author Tommy Brown has written a book entitled “The Seven Money Types: Discover How God Wired You to Handle Money”. Published by Zondervan in the spring of 2017, this book can easily be compared to Gary Chapman’s “Five Love Languages” series, only for finances instead of relationships. Continue reading
