The Perfect Way to Start Your Day

Susie Larson is an author I greatly respect, and whenever a new book releases with her name on it I quickly try and add it to my reading list. Her newest volume from Bethany House Publishers is entitled “Blessings for the Soul: Words of Grace and Peace for Your Heart”. This lovely little book is packaged as a floral hardcover with a ribbon bookmark and thick pages that are printed with botanic designs – but the true merit comes from the words on the pages. . .

I’ve found you can read this book in two different ways – sequentially, one daily blessing after the other, or by scanning the table of contents for a title that whispers something to you on that particular day. Both ways are meaningful! Each daily blessing holds a Bible verse on one page, and a brief reading on the opposite page. So many sentences from the daily readings are quote-worthy, but to name just a few of my favorites:

“In due time your faith will become sight and you’ll be glad that you trusted Him. Trust that He’s working on your behalf.”

“May you become an expert at caring for your soul.”

“May you count your blessings today out loud, one by one, in a louder voice than you’d usually use (it’s hilariously fun that way).”

“As you walk intimately with Jesus, may faith feel as natural to you as breathing in and breathing out.”

I could go on and on, listing quotes from each and every page of this special little book, but you get the idea! “Blessings for the Soul” is a simple yet meaningful way to start your day, allowing Susie’s words and God’s truth sink into your soul as you head out into your daily life. I highly recommend this new book from Susie, both to purchase for yourself and as a precious gift for a friend.
