I have eagerly awaited the release of the next installment of “The Codebreakers”.  I loved the first one, and also the previous series that it is related to.  “On Wings of Devotion” tells the story behind a character that we know from the previous book, Philip Camden.

First of all, “On Wings of Devotion” is masterfully written.  Roseanna White has a talent for writing that is simply amazing.  I loved how Camden’s character was developed, and truly transformed by the end of the book through the power of Jesus.  Also, Arabelle is a character whose faith in God is inspiring to all.

While the redemptive qualities in this book are genuinely beautiful, the story along the way is not without flaws.  Numerous insinuations throughout the book can be rather uncomfortable for the reader, and seemed unnecessary.  It took away from just being able to enjoy the story.

I definitely intend to read the final installment of this series when it is released, but I have to say that my hopes are not quite as high now.  Still, much of this book was enjoyable.  Just be cautious.
