It’s that time of year again, when author Irene Hannon takes us all to the place we wish we could live (or at least visit!) and surrounds us with friends both old and new. The tales from Hope Harbor continue in her newest story from Revell Publishers entitled “Blackberry Beach”, where a soul-searching actress and a lonely coffee shop owner discover the magic of this special spot on the Oregon coast.
I don’t know how she does it, but seven books into the series and Irene Hannon’s stories still captivate, enchant, and compel me from cover to cover. “Blackberry Beach” actually features two sweet romances, as well as a prayed-for reunion between family members, dreams achieved, and numerous little side stories that feature characters from stories past.
So once again (or perhaps for the first time) let yourself be transported to a memorable little town called Hope Harbor, “where hearts heal . . . and love blooms”. Revisit Charley’s taco stand (yes, my mouth is watering for fish tacos again!), say hello to the sea gulls Floyd and Gladys, and check in with old friends while becoming acquainted with some new ones as well. Time in this town is always well spent, and I definitely recommend this series to anyone who enjoys sweet, gentle, inspirational, faith-based stories that will touch your heart and feel like a homecoming all at the same time.
