An Unhurried Story of Love and Forgiveness – Guest Review by Hayley

“Where the Road Bends” is a sweet story that historical fiction fans will treasure.  This was the first novel I’ve read by Rachel Fordham, and I was impressed by the unique story line.

This is a story of forgiveness and healing.  Perhaps the healing of the characters is so noticeable because their pasts are very broken.  The stories behind the characters are filled with sadness and in some cases abuse.  But when their pasts catch up with them, it is wonderful to see how they have strengthened under the gentle care of friendship and belonging, and can make peace with their lives through healing, and the power of forgiveness.

Although I was surprised by a few inappropriate comments scattered here and there, I still give “Where the Road Bends” my recommendation to historical fiction fans looking for a sweet, unhurried story of love and forgiveness.
