A Great Bible Study About Joseph – And About Our God

We are all familiar with the biblical account of Joseph, favored son of Jacob, right?  Joseph’s is a story of God’s divine intervention in the most unlikely of circumstances, a story of redeeming the lost years of our lives, and of the beauty of forgiveness.  And, it is also a story about a remarkable, God-blessed family who, well, was more than a little messy – and messed up!  The 12 sons of Jacob had their struggles and their sins, that’s for sure.  The chosen ones of God, selected to be the forefathers of the mighty nation of Israel, were a very broken selection of people. And yet, God worked a beautiful story of redemption from their lives.  For me, that was the most precious takeaway from this amazing Bible study by Erin Davis….  Yes, it is a study about Joseph, but it’s also a closer look at the character of our good God.   Continue reading

If You Only Read One Non-Fiction Book This Year. . . Choose This One

If you only read a single non-fiction book this year (aside from the Bible), I suggest that it be Jennie Allen’s new release from Thomas Nelson Publishers. Yes, it was THAT good. “Made For This: 40 Days to Living Your Purpose” is the first book I’ve read by this incredible author, but now I want to get my hands on everything she’s written! “Made For This” is not just a regular book, rather it is “a 40-day interactive journey, a step-by-step process to guide you in answering life’s ultimate question.” In a workbook-style format with daily reading followed by exercises, journaling questions, Scripture reading, and more, this book is unique and powerful. How Did God Wire Us to Handle Money?

Have you ever wondered how you, and someone close to you, can view the concepts of money and finances (spending, saving, sharing, etc.) in such vastly different ways? If so, you are not alone!
