I only read a handful of Christian Romantic Suspense novels each year, so when I choose my titles from this genre I usually go with authors I’ve read in the past and enjoyed. Lynette Eason is always at the top of my list for fast-paced, heart-pounding, clean-content action stories with a faith-based theme, and I was delighted when in January of 2018 she released the first book in a brand-new series! “Oath of Honor” is installment #1 in the “Blue Justice” series from Revell Publishing, and what a fantastic start it was…
“Oath of Honor” had me hooked from the first page, and held my attention without exception until the last. As the first novel in a new series, there were a lot of brand-new character names to remember at the beginning, but as the chapters flew by I think I got them all sorted out in my head (mostly?!). Izzy St. John comes from a large family of law enforcement personnel, including detective brothers, an officer sister, a lawyer father and police chief mother. Add to the mix her partner and his family of police and military siblings, and you’ll find a LOT of members of law-enforcement in this story!
Aside from the abundance of intense, fast-paced action and suspenseful moments, the writing style of “Oath of Honor” was also masterful and truly brought the story to life with vivid clarity. When Izzy was being dangled over the roof of a building, for example, you felt as though you were there with her! In the end, if you are looking for a high-quality new Romantic Suspense novel, I can’t recommend highly enough the first book in the “Blue Justice” series – and the great news is that we only have to wait until this summer for the next installment to be released!
