We can always depend on Jocelyn Green to bring us a heart-wrenching, soul-inspiring story that keeps us on the edge of our seats, as she sweeps us back in time and brings historical events to life through fiction. I have long been awaiting the conclusion to “The Windy City Saga”, and it was finally released by Bethany House Publishers this spring – yay! “Drawn by the Current” is as unforgettable as the previous stories in the series, and our heroine, Olive Pierce, is a woman I can certainly relate to in ways both big and small. Amara Alvarez Is Back!
After reading Tom Threadgill’s novel entitled “Collision of Lies” last year, I was hooked by this author’s talent for creating vivid characters and combining them with a fast-paced, intricate web of secrets and lies – all of which add up to a can’t-put-down mystery novel. Published by Revell earlier this year, “Network of Deceit” continues the story of Detective Amara Alvarez as she tackles her newest investigation. It appears to be a case of overdose and heatstroke by a teenager at a local waterpark – until a tiny detail comes to light that shows perhaps something more sinister is afoot… something like murder. Another Fantastic Romantic Suspense Novel from Lynn Blackburn
When it comes to Romantic Suspense, I have pretty strict criteria that the novel must meet before it earns a place on my “keeper” shelf. “In Too Deep” is the second story in Lynn H. Blackburn’s “Dive Team Investigations” series from Revell Publishers, and it is one that I am happy to say meets all of my expectations. Continue reading
Chilling New Addition to the “Blue Justice” series
Whenever a new Romantic Suspense novel by Lynette Eason is released, it automatically goes on my TBR list. Filled with twisting and turning intrigue and spine-chilling suspense, “Called to Protect” is the second book in the “Blue Justice” series published by Revell. It tells the story of Officer Chloe St. John and her K-9 partner Hank, as well as Deputy US Marshall Blake MacCallum in his race against time to save his kidnapped daughter. The kidnapper’s only request? For Blake to commit murder if he wants to see his daughter alive again. Continue reading
A Gripping Start to a New Series by Lynette Eason
I only read a handful of Christian Romantic Suspense novels each year, so when I choose my titles from this genre I usually go with authors I’ve read in the past and enjoyed. Lynette Eason is always at the top of my list for fast-paced, heart-pounding, clean-content action stories with a faith-based theme, and I was delighted when in January of 2018 she released the first book in a brand-new series! “Oath of Honor” is installment #1 in the “Blue Justice” series from Revell Publishing, and what a fantastic start it was… Continue reading
A So-So Conclusion
At long last, fans of the “Nikki Boyd Files” series by Lisa Harris will discover the truth about the ongoing mystery (Nikki’s missing sister) that left investigators (and readers!) puzzled for so long. “Vanishing Point” is “A Nikki Boyd Novel”, and ties in with “Vendetta”, “Missing”, and “Pursued” of the “Nikki Boyd Files” published by Revell over the past few years.
Although this book is not told from Nikki Boyd’s perspective as the other novels in the saga are, “Vanishing Point” still follows the gripping tale of the race to discover the identity of the Angel Abductor – a man who terrorized parts of Tennessee for many years by kidnapping multiple young girls. Continue reading
Not Her Best Work
The first book in bestselling author Irene Hannon’s new Christian Romantic Suspense series has just been released from Revell. Book number one in the “Code of Honor” series, aptly entitled “Dangerous Illusions”, will keep you guessing until the end.
While not the most suspense-filled novel I’ve read by Ms. Hannon, “Dangerous Illusions” still contained enough nail-biting moments to keep me flipping pages after I should have went to bed. Continue reading
