I’ll just give you fair warning – be prepared for a good amount of gushing about how fantastic this book was! (There, you’ve been warned!) “You Belong With Me” was written by Tari Faris and published by Revell as the first in the new “Restoring Heritage” series. I’ve never read anything by this author before, but now I cannot wait for her next story to release – I loved every word of “You Belong With Me” and found myself alternately smiling, wiping away tears, and laughing at the engaging story of Hannah, Luke, and the town of Heritage.

Overflowing with charming characters who quickly become friends, gentle humor, sweet romance, compelling themes, and a writing style that makes you feel as though you are living in the town of Heritage too, this book is a treat from start to finish. I couldn’t stop reading, and yet I wanted to go slowly to make it last longer (yes, it was quite a conundrum…).

One of my favorite aspects of the story was how it held more than just ‘surface themes’ – you know, the fluffy ideals that seem to be tacked on as an afterthought? In contrast, “You Belong With Me” made me think about the struggles each character was going through, many of them mirroring things that I so often struggle with. One secondary character in particular (who I’m hoping gets a story of his own soon!) introduced a thought-provoking perspective called a Grace Point that I found fascinating, but if you want to learn more you’ll just have to read the story for yourself…

All in all, if you are looking for the sweetest, most memorable and warmly written Contemporary Christian Romance that you’ll read all year, I HIGHLY recommend “You Belong With Me”. It was absolutely delightful in every way, and I am counting the days until the next book from Tari Faris releases – I’m guessing you will be too!
