I respect Erica Wiggenhorn immensely, and have gleaned so much wisdom and insight from each of her Bible studies in the past. “An Unexpected Revival: Experiencing God’s Goodness through Disappointment and Doubt – An 8-Week Bible Study of Ezekiel” is the newest of her releases from Moody Publishers, and so it immediately went on my reading list. Not only because of the author, but also because the title and subtitle resonated with me. Continue reading

A Delight From Start to Finish!
I’ll just give you fair warning – be prepared for a good amount of gushing about how fantastic this book was! (There, you’ve been warned!) “You Belong With Me” was written by Tari Faris and published by Revell as the first in the new “Restoring Heritage” series. I’ve never read anything by this author before, but now I cannot wait for her next story to release – I loved every word of “You Belong With Me” and found myself alternately smiling, wiping away tears, and laughing at the engaging story of Hannah, Luke, and the town of Heritage. A Beautiful Summer Escape – Guest Review by Hayley
“On a Summer Tide”, by Suzanne Woods Fisher is the first book I’ve read by this author. Although this book is in the Contemporary Romance genre, I would consider the romance in this book to be a more secondary storyline. The largest portion of “On a Summer Tide” is devoted to following the story of a father, his three grown daughters, and his grandson, as they struggle to reconnect after years of discord among their family following a terrible tragedy. A Perfect Novel for Summertime
Easy-reading summertime novels (usually set at the seashore) are the perfect way to spend a relaxing afternoon of summer vacation. Often these stories have a ‘Hallmark Movie’ feel to them, with a sweet, clean romance plus a gentle and enjoyable plot that wraps up with a happy ending for all. Denise Hunter’s new release from Thomas Nelson fits all my ‘requirements’ for the perfect summery story, and is completely charming and well-written to boot! Continue reading

Ever since the release of Sarah Beth Marr’s first book, “Dreaming With God”, I have been looking forward to discovering what her next writing project would be. . . Now, a year later, her second release from BakerBooks is available and entitled “Whispers and WIldflowers: 30 Days to Slow Your Pace, Savor Scripture & Draw Closer to God”. Continue reading

A Powerful, 365-Day Devotional from John Eldredge – Guest Review by Hayley
John Eldredge is one of my go-to authors for spiritual development books. I was absolutely thrilled to see a year-long devotional as his newest book: “Restoration Year: A 365-Day Devotional”. Continue reading
A Book Overflowing with Wisdom for the Dry Season
Allison Allen is a Revell author who is noted for her ability to explore themes of purpose, value, and identity in original and unexpected ways. This is exactly what I discovered as I read her newest book, entitled “Thirsty for More: Discovering God’s Unexpected Blessings in a Desert Season”. If you’ve ever felt like you are experiencing a dry season where God feels distant and far away, or if you are currently going through a desert time right now, this is the book for you… Continue reading

You know Christmas is just around the corner when Melody Carlson releases her new, annual Christmas novella from Revell Publishers! “A Christmas by the Sea” is the newest release from the pen of Ms. Carlson and is a sweet little story of new beginnings, seaside reminiscences, the possibility of romance – and of course it all takes place at Christmastime.
