A Perfect End-Of-Summer Visit to PEI

What better way to end the summer than with a trip to Prince Edward Island?  I don’t mean literally, (though that would be nice!) but with Liz Johnson as our imagination’s guide, we can once again visit The Island in her new series from Revell entitled “Prince Edward Island Shores”.

Beyond the Tides” is a bittersweet story that hooked me right from the start, and held me captive until the end.  Filled with well-researched details about the lobster fishing trade, an unlikely but oh-so-romantic love story, and a heartbreaking diagnosis that tilts the world upside-down for our protagonist, this story has everything needed for a perfect, relaxing, late-summer afternoon read.

I adored every page of this first book in the new PEI series from Liz, and I can’t wait for the continuation set to come out next summer.  I love how it is set in a such a beautiful province, and the little tidbits of Canadiana such as Tim Hortons coffee runs, loonies and toonies in your pockets, and travelling for kilometres instead of miles was such a refreshing change-up for this Canadian girl!
