The Concluding Story to a Memorable Series

Do you love Christian Historical Fiction? Does a London setting of 1881 sound just about perfect? And if the story is part of a trilogy, isn’t that even better? If you answered ‘yes’ to any or all of these questions, I know just the book for you! “The Artful Match” was written by Jennifer Delamere and published by Bethany House in the spring of 2019. It is the third book in a favorite series of mine, “London Beginnings”, and tells the story of the youngest of three sisters as she finds her way in the world, and discovers romance at the same time. A continuing saga in all three stories is also tied up as we finally discover once and for all what happened when the girls’ father disappeared so many years ago. Continue reading

A Beautiful Edition of a Timeless Classic

Harvest House Publishers is celebrating the 25th anniversary of one of the most beloved Christian romance novels of all time by releasing an exquisite special edition of the original book. . . Lori Wick’s “Sophie’s Heart” was first released in 1995, and has since sold over 350,000 copies worldwide. Amazingly, I had never before read it and was delighted to discover this captivating story for the first time. With a rich, burgundy and foil-adorned hardcover and a ribbon bookmark, this lovely edition would make a precious gift for ladies of all ages; whether they’ve never before met Sophie, or they’ve read her story time and time again. A Perfect Conclusion to a Memorable Historical Series

Amanda Cabot’s “Cimarron Creek Trilogry” has reached its conclusion, as “A Tender Hope” released from Revell Publishers earlier this spring. Although each novel in the series was a complete tale of its own, the overarching storylines that wove the books together are finally tied up in a satisfying conclusion for the characters we’ve already become acquainted with. Don’t Miss the Continuing Story of Haven Manor!

You know you are reading a book by a talented author when the words on the page form a story that is equal parts hilarious and tragic, messy and endearing. Kristi Ann Hunter’s second novel in the “Haven Manor” series from Bethany House Publishers is a close continuation of the first installment, and is entitled “A Return of Devotion”. This charming book draws you into the dilemmas of the characters from the first page, and had me scarcely able to turn the pages fast enough to discover how the heroine would get herself out of the terrible fix she was in! The Anticipated, Second “High Sierra Sweethearts” Story!

I have long been waiting for the second installment in Mary Connealy’s “High Sierra Sweethearts” series from Bethany House, ever since the first story released earlier this year. “The Reluctant Warrior” picks up right where “The Accidental Guardian” leaves off, and reveals the stories of two characters who we’ve already become acquainted with. One of My Top Historical Novels of the Year!

First off let me say, I’m going to try my best not to gush incessantly and ecstatically about the following novel, and instead calmly provide several well-founded reasons as to why you simply MUST READ THIS BOOK for yourself! “A Rumored Fortune” is the second novel written by the incredibly talented Joanna Davidson Politano (her first was the extraordinary “Lady Jayne Disappears”), and published by Revell in 2018. It is a beautiful story filled with treasure hunts, thoughtful analogies based on Scripture, characters who you instantly either adore or abhor, a sweet but unlikely romance, and a Victorian castle that holds unimagined secrets deep within. If you enjoy Christian Historical Fiction, I recommend that you place this story at the top of your reading list – it is simply too good to miss! Continue reading

A Fascinating Story-Within-a-Story from a Debut Author!

“Lady Jayne Disappears” by Joanna Davidson Politano is definitely one of the most unique stories I’ve read in 2017. Published by Revell in November, this fascinating novel also happens to be captivating and compelling, while imparting powerful messages of identity, love, and belonging. All this amounts to quite an accomplishment for a debut novel, wouldn’t you agree? Continue reading
