If you enjoy Regency Romance in the Christian genre, you most likely have read a book or two (or more!) by Kristi Ann Hunter. Her newest release from Bethany House Publishers, “Enchanting the Heiress” is the third (and I’m guessing final) story in her “Hearts on the Heath” series. This one I have long been awaiting, because it takes such an unlikely pairing of people, woven into a unique drama, and leaves you with a story you won’t soon forget!
The unexpected facets of this story are numerous, including a reverse-Cinderella story, a strange yet compelling plot, and a conglomeration of so many awkwardly-sweet moments between main characters that I lost count early on! I admit, it is not a very believable story, and it was not my favourite of Ms Hunter’s many titles, but it was fun and also very heartfelt nonetheless. In fact, it is the Scripture-based themes (which I won’t divulge because it would be giving too much away) that bring the story depth and a solid foundation.
I adore the Regency backdrop, and found “Enchanting the Heiress” to be a sweet conclusion to a strong series. It was delightful to be reunited with characters from her earlier books (and even a few old friends from her other series!), and the overall humorous yet heartfelt feeling of the book made it a winner for me.
