If you enjoy Regency Romance in the Christian genre, you most likely have read a book or two (or more!) by Kristi Ann Hunter. Her newest release from Bethany House Publishers, “Enchanting the Heiress” is the third (and I’m guessing final) story in her “Hearts on the Heath” series. This one I have long been awaiting, because it takes such an unlikely pairing of people, woven into a unique drama, and leaves you with a story you won’t soon forget! Continue reading

The Sequel Outshines The First Story!
When reading a new novel by Kristi Ann Hunter, you are always in for a delightful time filled with laugh-out-loud wit, memorable characters, and a storyline that will keep you captivated. “Winning the Gentleman” is the second book in the “Hearts on the Heath” series from Bethany House Publishers, and I enjoyed it even more than the first!
Continue readingA Lovely New Regency Romance Series Begins!
Kristi Ann Hunter is my favorite author of Christian novels set in the Regency era, and I have enjoyed reading each one of her books. I was delighted to learn that her new 2020 release is the beginning of a brand new series (her third series from Bethany House, I believe?) called “Hearts on the Heath”.
“Vying for the Viscount” is the first story of this new series, and from chapter one I was swept away to the time period made so famous by Jane Austen’s stories. In a way, Kristi’s new novel is reminiscent of an Austen story, with all the wit and wisdom underlying the ridiculous-sounding customs of courtship and all the rituals relating to it. Julie Klassen’s New Mystery is Like the Board Game of “Clue” Come to Life!
Julie Klassen is an author of many talents! From cozy tales of village life to mysteries filled with suspense, this lady’s writing is always stellar and keeps you hooked from the first page. Her newest story, “The Bridge to Belle Island”, is actually a murder mystery set in Regency England that tells a uniquely compelling tale guaranteed to keep her readers – and her characters, too! – guessing until the very end. I kept thinking I knew how things would unfold, and I kept being completely wrong. Continue reading
A Bittersweet Final Visit to Ivy Hill
It is always a bittersweet moment when I reach the final words of a delightful and much-loved series, and Julie Klassen’s memorable “Tales from Ivy Hill” is definitely no exception. “The Bride of Ivy Green” is the final installment of the trilogy published by Bethany House, and allows readers one last visit to the beloved little town of Ivy Hill and all its inhabitants. If you have already enjoyed “The Innkeeper of Ivy Hill” and “The Ladies of Ivy Cottage”, you will be delighted with this satisfying, and oftentimes surprising, final installment. Continue reading
A Compelling New Regency Series from Kristi Ann Hunter
Award-winning author Kristi Ann Hunter has released the first book in her brand-new “Haven Manor” series from Bethany House, entitled “A Defense of Honor”. Just like her previous novels, this new story is compelling, intriguing, and filled with endearing characters who walk right off the pages and into your imagination. I truly cannot wait for the next installment of “Haven Manor”, but first I must give you a word of caution about a major plot point that conservative readers (as I consider myself to be) should certainly be aware of. Continue reading
I Didn’t Want to Leave Ivy Hill!
It’s been a long wait, but the second novel in Julie Klassen’s delightfully charming “Tales From Ivy Hill” series has finally been released from Bethany House! “The Ladies of Ivy Cottage” begins right where “The Innkeeper of Ivy Hill” left off, and will be followed later this year with the conclusion to the trilogy, entitled “The Bride of Ivy Green”. Be Swept Away to a World of Ballrooms and Dancing
The moment we’ve all been waiting for (or at least all the fans of Kristi Ann Hunter’s Regency-era “Hawthorne House” series have been waiting for) finally arrived in the autumn of 2017! From Bethany House comes “An Inconvenient Beauty”, the story of the last, unmarried Hawthorne sibling: Griffith, Duke of Riverton. Because Griffith was a character we all came to adore in the previous books, I’m certain I wasn’t the only reader waiting with baited breath to finally encounter the lady who would win his heart. Continue reading

A Fascinating Sequel
It isn’t very often that the second story in a series outshines the first, but that is exactly what has happened with the “Hawthorne House” series by Kristi Ann Hunter! “An Elegant Facade” is the new 2016 sequel to “A Noble Masquerade”, both published by Bethany House. According to Ms. Hunter’s website, the series will carry on for at least two more books, meaning that each of the four Hawthorne siblings will have their own story. Who is “An Elegant Facade” about, you ask? Well, it reveals the secrets of Georgina Hawthorne, and what a story it turns out to be! Continue reading
