A Charming and Gentle Story – Guest Review by Hayley

The Summers sisters return to us in the second book of the “On Devonshire Shores” series.  Emily Summers is the main focus of this novel, although we do get to check in with Sarah as well, from time to time.

I greatly enjoyed the history in this book, with much of the story involving the Duke and Duchess of Kent (parents of the future Queen Victoria) and their historic visit to Sidmouth.  Although the visit ends tragically, the history was fascinating, as well as the effect that royal visitors had for the residents of Sidmouth. A Perfect Novel for Summertime

Easy-reading summertime novels (usually set at the seashore) are the perfect way to spend a relaxing afternoon of summer vacation. Often these stories have a ‘Hallmark Movie’ feel to them, with a sweet, clean romance plus a gentle and enjoyable plot that wraps up with a happy ending for all. Denise Hunter’s new release from Thomas Nelson fits all my ‘requirements’ for the perfect summery story, and is completely charming and well-written to boot! Continue reading

A So-So Conclusion

At long last, fans of the “Nikki Boyd Files” series by Lisa Harris will discover the truth about the ongoing mystery (Nikki’s missing sister) that left investigators (and readers!) puzzled for so long. “Vanishing Point” is “A Nikki Boyd Novel”, and ties in with “Vendetta”, “Missing”, and “Pursued” of the “Nikki Boyd Files” published by Revell over the past few years.

Although this book is not told from Nikki Boyd’s perspective as the other novels in the saga are, “Vanishing Point” still follows the gripping tale of the race to discover the identity of the Angel Abductor – a man who terrorized parts of Tennessee for many years by kidnapping multiple young girls.
