Jocelyn Green’s new releases are always at the very top of my reading list, simply because they are incredible stories filled with little-known historical insights, all told with a rich and masterful writer’s voice. “The Metropolitan Affair” is probably the best story I’ve read so far this year, and I highly recommend it to all fans of historical fiction. And one of the best parts? It’s only the first story in a new series, “On Central Park”, so we have more historic New York drama to look forward to soon! Continue reading

The Gripping Conclusion to the Windy City Saga
We can always depend on Jocelyn Green to bring us a heart-wrenching, soul-inspiring story that keeps us on the edge of our seats, as she sweeps us back in time and brings historical events to life through fiction. I have long been awaiting the conclusion to “The Windy City Saga”, and it was finally released by Bethany House Publishers this spring – yay! “Drawn by the Current” is as unforgettable as the previous stories in the series, and our heroine, Olive Pierce, is a woman I can certainly relate to in ways both big and small. Like Stepping Into A Time Machine!

For the last couple days, I have spent every spare minute at the Chicago World’s Fair of 1893, where I witnessed an unforgettable story unfold. How did I travel back in time? Jocelyn Green’s new release from Bethany House Publishers, “Shadows of the White City”, was my time machine of choice, and as is always the case with her books it completely immersed me from start to finish. This story is the second of “The Windy City Saga”, and takes place almost twenty years after “Veiled in Smoke” occurred. All my favorite characters return in these pages, but this time it is Sylvie Townsend who is featured in the spotlight, as uncomfortable as it may be for her. . .
A Powerful Beginning to Jocelyn Green’s New Series
Jocelyn Green always leaves me in awe when I finish one of her books. With masterful prose, she manages to bring history to life in ways that make me feel as though I am living alongside her characters from the past, feeling every emotion and witnessing every event just as they do. “Veiled in Smoke”, her new release from Bethany House Publishers, is the first story in “The Windy City Saga”. This dramatic novel brings the tragic event of Chicago’s Great Fire of 1871 to vivid existence in our imagination, following two sisters as they experience the fire – and it’s aftereffects – firsthand. A New and Captivating Historical Drama from Jocelyn Green
Jocelyn Green’s talent for bringing history to life is unmatched. “Between Two Shores” is her newest release from Bethany House, and is set in Montreal in 1759 during the Seven Years’ War. Told from the perspective of a woman caught in the middle of two nations, two sides of her family, and two differing perspectives about the man she loves, this gripping story yanks readers into the drama of war and holds us captive until the final page. I’m Nuts About Books – Are You?
Recently Stephanie from Graf-Martin Communications and the Nuts About Books program shared a video and a question with bloggers in the monthly newsletter. First, here is the video by Jocelyn Green, author of “The Mark of the King” (read my review for this book here). Isn’t it a delight?!
Certain to Become a Classic
From the moment I saw the title and read the synopsis, I was enthusiastic to read “The Mark of the King” by Jocelyn Green, and could hardly wait for Bethany House to release it. When the opportunity came to review the novel, I was delighted! While it wasn’t quite what I had been expecting, in many ways it was even better. Powerful and engaging writing, vibrant imagery, and unforgettably dynamic characters combine to make this book a classic in the making. It wasn’t an easy story to read, nor was it a light, humorous, or “happy” novel, but it was powerful. Oh my, was it powerful. . . Continue reading
