The Adventures of the McQuaid Family Continue

Jody Hedlund’s “Colorado Cowboys” series continues with the fourth story of the adventurous McQuaid siblings.  This time it is the only sister Ivy getting the spotlight, as “Falling for the Cowgirl” ropes us into a dramatic adventure.  

From the start, I always guessed who Ivy’s hero would be…
Jericho Bliss.  I knew this simply because we’ve witnessed her feelings for him grow and continue throughout the previous three books in the series, and it is high time this romance was brought to the forefront and given the attention it deserved!  Ivy as a protagonist is both entertaining and frustrating, because although her big heart cannot be ignored, her strong will is sometimes hard to take.  Jericho’s intentions towards her, to protect her from his own life choices, are admirable but as he quickly discovers, feelings can sometimes derail our best intentions. The “Hearts of Montana” Finale – Guest Review by Hayley

The “Hearts of Montana” series has come to and end with another adventurous tale entitled “Faith’s Mountain Home”!

Anyone who read the first two books in the series will have been waiting for this one, to finally see the outcome of a storyline that was very prominent in book number two.  The story of the twin-brothers-turned-outlaws is finally tied up in this series finale, and paints a picture of redemption, healing, and forgiveness.  Also Laura Hannon, who we have met previously, is the leading heroine of this book, and we learn more of her incredibly tragic past. “The Brides of Hope Mountain” Reaches a Climax and Conclusion!

Sigh… You know that bittersweet feeling when you reach the final page of the concluding book in a series, knowing that your time with the characters is finished? “The Brides of Hope Mountain” series, written by Mary Connealy and published by Bethany House, has reached the end, and so our time with the three Nordegren sisters is over as well. “Her Secret Song” has long been on my reading list because I was so intrigued (and sometimes annoyed!) by the oldest of the three sisters, Ursula, but we had to wait patiently to see her story revealed. Mixed Feelings About New “Hearts of Montana” Story – Guest Review by Hayley

If you read the first installment of the “Hearts of Montana” series, then you will probably be eager for this one as well.

I was excited to read “Love’s Mountain Quest”, but I’m finding that I have somewhat mixed feelings about this book.  Some parts I liked and other parts I didn’t.  There is enough adventure in this book to please even the bravest of thrill-seekers, as well as great lessons in faith and character.  But there is also enough sadness and pain and anguish that it can feel like a bit of a downer.
