Jericho Bliss. I knew this simply because we’ve witnessed her feelings for him grow and continue throughout the previous three books in the series, and it is high time this romance was brought to the forefront and given the attention it deserved! Ivy as a protagonist is both entertaining and frustrating, because although her big heart cannot be ignored, her strong will is sometimes hard to take. Jericho’s intentions towards her, to protect her from his own life choices, are admirable but as he quickly discovers, feelings can sometimes derail our best intentions. Continue reading
I know I’ve said it before, but I’m going to say it again – my summer would not be complete without reading a new Karen Witemeyer novel right in the middle!

My summer just would not be complete if I didn’t get my annual Karen Witemeyer
Regina Jennings once again delivers a well-written, compelling, and historically intriguing novel from Bethany House Publishers – plus it is the first in a new series! “Courting Misfortune” opens up “The Joplin Chronicles” with a bang, as our Pinkerton-employed heroine faces danger of all sorts in a showdown against the shady side of a rough-and-tumble mining town. 
Sigh… You know that bittersweet feeling when you reach the final page of the concluding book in a series, knowing that your time with the characters is finished? “The Brides of Hope Mountain” series, written by Mary Connealy and published by Bethany House, has reached the end, and so our time with the three Nordegren sisters is over as well. “Her Secret Song” has long been on my reading list because I was so intrigued (and sometimes annoyed!) by the oldest of the three sisters, Ursula, but we had to wait patiently to see her story revealed. 
Each summer I look forward to a new release from one of my favorite authors of Christian Historical Fiction… Karen Witemeyer! Her summer 2020 release from Bethany House is actually the first book in a new series called “Hanger’s Horsemen” and was well worth the wait! If you love western adventures, clean romances, and stories that will tug at your heartstrings, look no further than “At Love’s Command”. 
Bethany House Publishers and author Mary Connealy just released the second book in her current series, “Brides of Hope Mountain”. “Woman of Sunlight” narrates the story of the youngest of three sisters who lived in complete isolation on the side of a mountain, until a ranching family changed their lives forever. When a gunfight occurs not far from their beloved home, with the target being one of their own, this flung-together-family realizes that their lives are about to change once again, and in ways they never could have predicted. 
I have long been anticipating the last story in “The Fort Reno” series by Regina Jennings, and “The Major’s Daughter” finally released in December 2019! As the unlikely tale between Caroline Adams and Frisco Smith unfolds, I found myself laughing, cheering, and learning some fascinating history about the 1889 Land Run of of Oklahoma (there was some serious sneakiness that occurred, that’s for sure!).
