A Compelling New Regency Series from Kristi Ann Hunter

Award-winning author Kristi Ann Hunter has released the first book in her brand-new “Haven Manor” series from Bethany House, entitled “A Defense of Honor”. Just like her previous novels, this new story is compelling, intriguing, and filled with endearing characters who walk right off the pages and into your imagination. I truly cannot wait for the next installment of “Haven Manor”, but first I must give you a word of caution about a major plot point that conservative readers (as I consider myself to be) should certainly be aware of.

You see, the entire story is built upon the ‘indiscretion’ of London’s socially elite, and the unwanted and illegitimate children who desperately need a champion to fight for them. As you can imagine, this allows for numerous opportunities of inappropriate plot points, memories, and conversations. However it is all handled with grace – and a gentleness that (almost) always refrains from vulgarity – while pointing towards truths of trusting in God even when it seems all hope is lost.

“A Defense of Honor” is a beautiful, extremely well-written, and carefully unfolded story that will tug at the heartstrings of each reader. Admittedly, it is not without uncomfortable scenarios, but without those details the story wouldn’t exist. Each character comes to life and offers to teach the reader something important, whether through their mistakes or their triumphs.

Hopefully I have been successful in sharing a word of caution with you, while still recommending this truly delightful story that touched my heart. If you still decide to give it “A Defense of Honor” a try, I’m pretty certain that you and I will both be one of the first in line to read the next installment of the “Haven House” saga.
