Jaime Jo Wright’s Most Spellbinding Story Yet

“The Haunting at Bonaventure Circus” by Jaime Jo Wright was a book that I had to finish within a couple days! It is the kind of absorbing and evocative novel that works its way into your mind and will prevent you from thinking of much else until the mystery is solved and the characters receive closure (whatever that may look like… I will warn you, there are murders involved).

All of Jaime Jo Wright’s books have been stunning in their juxtapositions of the darkness and the light of this world; mistakes and mysteries of the past colliding with their results and consequences in the present. “The Haunting at Bonaventure Circus”, however, is my favorite because I could relate to these characters more than most of her other ones… Continue reading

A Beautiful Devotional-Style Book for Animal Lovers

I am a seasonal/part-time pet sitter, and so the title of a new release from Harvest House Publishers immediately caught my attention… “My Hair-Raising and Heartwarming Adventures as a Pet Sitter: A Life of Fun, Fur, and Faith”! Written by professional pet sitter Christi Grace, this book is an anthology of stories about her career of caring for other peoples’ pets when they are away from home – as you can imagine, she has seen a little bit of everything! Calling All Cat Lovers!

kit-kat-and-lucy-imageDoes your family include any furry members of the feline variety? If your answer is yes, I have just the book for you! “Kit Kat and Lucy: The Country Cats Who Changed a City Girl’s World” by Lonnie Hull DuPont is a sweet and charming book about a pair of cats who truly fulfilled the title of their story, in both remarkable and everyday-ordinary ways.

Published by Revell in the autumn of 2016, this delightful true story is certain to bring a smile and perhaps a tear to anyone who has ever held a cat in their heart. A warning, however… For readers who do NOT have a soft spot for felines, well, this book might not be very amusing or heartwarming to you. After all, cats will be cats, for better or worse, and Kit Kat and Lucy are certainly no exception!

I am grateful to have received a copy of this book from Revell Reads, free of charge, in exchange for an honest review. All opinions expressed are my own.
