More Fantastic Home Inspiration and Encouragement from Melissa Michaels

In terms of encouragement and inspiration for all things house and home, Melissa Michaels simply can’t be beaten. She is a New York Times Bestselling author of several books (all of which I adore!) and creator of “The Inspired Room” blog, which motivates thousands of followers each week with simple ideas for creating inspired rooms of our own. Her newest release from Harvest House Publishers is a delightful little volume entitled “Simple Organizing: 50 Ways to Clear the Clutter”. (Don’t let the title fool you, though, as there are FAR more than 50 ideas in this book. . . Think of it more as 50 broad tips, with numerous ‘sub-tips’ included for each one!) Continue reading

“Simple Gatherings” is Simply Delightful!

I’ve enjoyed several of bestselling author Melissa Michaels’ books in the past, and also love following her regular posts on social media. She truly has an incredible gift to help us “inspire our homes”. When a new book title from this talented lady was released by Harvest House Publishers entitled “Simple Gatherings: 50 Ways to Inspire Connection”, I was excited to read it and hoped I could come away better able to “create memorable gatherings with simplicity and style”… I wasn’t disappointed! A Pleasant Read on a Snowy Afternoon

What can be better than curling up on a cold winter’s day with a sweet, gentle, Christian Historical Fiction novel entitled “Harp on the Willow”? I know, not much could beat that, right!? Written by BJ Hoff and published by Harvest House in January of 2018, this sweet book takes readers on a pleasant visit to a small town named Mount Laurel, and reveals some of the stories held within the hearts of its residents – in particular of Dr. Daniel Kavanagh and his many patients. Helping Us Become Students of God’s Word

“Deeper Waters: Immersed in the Life-Changing Truth of God’s Word” is the type of book that you will want to keep close by, on your nightstand or in your desk, because you will inevitably want to read and reference it time after time. Written by Denise J. Hughes (author of the “Word Writers” series) and published by Harvest House in 2017, this book offered so much more than I expected. Unquestionably one of the best non-fiction books I’ve read this year, “Deeper Waters” is a resource I cannot recommend highly enough. Continue reading

Amazing Resource Adds New Dimensions to Studying the Psalms – Guest Review by Hayley

The book of Psalms is undoubtedly one of the most beloved books of the Bible.  It certainly is for me.  Still, I never truly realized the deeper meanings found throughout the Psalms. The many facets of the writing style, the structure, the imagery and many other aspects all work together to create this much deeper meaning than I would have understood at first glance.  “Discovering Hope in the Psalms” by Pam Farrel, Jean E. Jones, and Karla Dornacher, is an invaluable resource to help you discover that deeper meaning. Continue reading

The End of a Memorable Saga

I have been waiting a long time to finally discover the conclusion to a strange mystery that stretched over three books. . . With the release of the third “Cousins of the Dove” story, I finally received this closure! “My Daughter’s Legacy” was written by Mindy Starns Clark and Leslie Gould, and published by Harvest House in the summer of 2017. Continue reading

Sweet Stories of Canine Companions

I love animals, especially dogs—so much so, in fact, that I own two dogs of my own, work at an animal shelter, and am training to become a canine massage therapist! So when the opportunity came along to read a book filled with inspirational dog stories, how could I resist? “Doctor Dog: Healing Touches from Pets We Love” was written by M.R. Wells, and published by Harvest House. Categorized as a Devotional, this little book contains dozens of stories about dogs of all shapes and sizes changing the lives of the people they love, often in amazing ways. Continue reading

Study the Bible in a New Way

I recently discovered a fun, unique new Bible Study series called “Word Writers: Experience the Bible…Writing Word by Word”. As with most books of this kind, devotions, reflection questions, and quotes from Scripture are included in a daily reading, but with “Word Writers” there is one more – rather unusual – step… Continue reading

Cousins of the Dove Book #2

my-sisters-prayer-imageAfter a lengthy wait, the second book in Harvest House Publishing’s “Cousins of the Dove” series has finally been released! Mindy Starns Clark and Leslie Gould have once again brought to life a fascinating tale which interweaves past and present into one compelling narrative called “My Sister’s Prayer”. Several characters are recurring and many are new, but the story itself is a natural continuation of the previous book entitled “My Brother’s Crown”. If you discovered the intrigue of that first novel, you won’t want to miss the continuing story of book #2! Continue reading
