Jaime Jo Wright’s Most Spellbinding Story Yet

“The Haunting at Bonaventure Circus” by Jaime Jo Wright was a book that I had to finish within a couple days! It is the kind of absorbing and evocative novel that works its way into your mind and will prevent you from thinking of much else until the mystery is solved and the characters receive closure (whatever that may look like… I will warn you, there are murders involved).

All of Jaime Jo Wright’s books have been stunning in their juxtapositions of the darkness and the light of this world; mistakes and mysteries of the past colliding with their results and consequences in the present. “The Haunting at Bonaventure Circus”, however, is my favorite because I could relate to these characters more than most of her other ones… Continue reading

Challenging and Convicting New Title from Christine Hoover

I have found that you can always count on Christine Hoover to provide a hard-hitting message with her books – and her newest release from BakerBooks is no exception. “With All Your Heart: Living Joyfully Through Allegiance to King Jesus” is a powerful book that compels readers to answer this question: If our hearts are made for allegiance to a king and kingdom (which they are) who and what are we consciously and unconsciously pledging our loyalty to? Let’s just say – I am SO glad I read this novel! Continue reading

Sheila Walsh is a bestselling author and Bible teacher, but I’d never before read one of her books – until her newest release from Baker Books. “It’s Okay Not to Be Okay: Moving Forward One Day at a Time” shares the message that “It’s never to late to start again. . .and there is healing and freedom in just taking the first step.” Continue reading

Powerful, Helpful, and Engaging Book About Emotional Boundaries

This book takes the complicated question of “Do your emotions control you or do you control your emotions?” and breaks it down into understandable, do-able, and ultimately life-changing practices that will truly transform you from the inside out.
