A Final Visit to Prince Edward Island. . .
It’s not every day that the second or third book in a series outshines the first. . . However, I’ve just finished a story which provides proof that it can happen! The “Prince Edward Island Dreams” series, written by Liz Johnson and published by Revell, began with “The Red Door Inn”, followed by “Where Two Hearts Meet”, and has just concluded with the best installment of them all: “On Love’s Gentle Shore”. Released in July of 2017, and obviously set on Canada’s smallest province of Prince Edward Island, this book was a must-read for me during the month of Canada’s 150th birthday. Continue reading
Compassionate and Understanding
If you or someone you love has ever experienced a season of sadness and desolation, if you (or they) have ever felt hopeless and overwhelmed by life, you simply must read a new book published by Revell in 2016. It is appropriately entitled “Hope Prevails: Insights from a Doctor’s Personal Journey through Depression”, and was written by Dr. Michelle Bengtson. This book is NOT a textbook-like volume filled with the latest scientific studies and newly discovered “cures”, nor is it a memoir filled with all the details of one person’s struggles. This Sequel Doesn’t Meet Expectations
After reading book #1 in the “Keys of Promise” series by Christine Johnson, I had very high expectations for book #2, “Honor Redeemed”. Were those expectations met? Well, not exactly…
“Honor Redeemed” was published by Revell in the later summer of 2016, and is the sequel to “Love’s Rescue” published the year before. Although the hero and heroine of this second story are newly introduced characters, several recurring characters also play important secondary roles. Don’t Miss This Incredible Blessing
A new little volume released by Bethany House in 2016 should become required reading for any Christian going through hardships and times of pain, suffering, and confusion. “Finding God in the Hard Times: Choosing to Trust and Hope When You Can’t See the Way” was written by Matt and Beth Redman, the songwriters of a life-changing 
worship piece entitled “Blessed Be Your Name”. Although small in size and less than 150 pages in length, this little book packs a punch that may forever alter your view of trusting God through hard times.
