Whenever a new title is released in the Moody Publishers series of Bible Studies for Women, I always am excited to add it to my collection. “Before the Throne: An 8-Week Bible Study – Finding Strength Through Prayer In Difficult Times” is the newest offering from Crickett Keeth and takes on such a relevant and timely topic. “Where do you go when life overwhelms you? Before the throne.” And if you don’t feel like you are at that point yet, this book is the perfect place to start building into the foundation of your life. Continue reading

A Deep Dive Into Old Testament History
I’ve been excited about this new title from the Moody Publishers Bible Studies for Women series ever since I saw the announcement for its release. “The Godly Kings of Judah: Faithful Living for Lasting Influence – An 8-Week Bible Study” was written by Cynthia Cavanaugh and it is everything I was hoping for… and then some! A Beloved Fiction Author’s First Bible Study!
Authors of Biblical Fiction have a beautiful ability to bring well-known stories and characters to life in ways that expand our imaginations, and perhaps cause us to look at a portion of the Bible (that we may have read a hundred times before) in a new and exciting way. Tessa Afshar is a beloved author of many Biblical Fiction novels, and has now directed her knowledge and talents down a new path – as a writer for Moody Bible Studies for Women! “The Way Home: God’s Invitation to New Beginnings – A 6-Week Bible Study of Ruth” is an invitation to step into the courageous story of Ruth and Naomi as it comes to life like never before – from the pen of a fiction author. . . The Newest Moody Bible Study for Women
Whenever Moody Publishers releases a new title in their Bible Studies for Women series, I know it will be worthwhile. “If God is For Us: The Everlasting Truth of Our Great Salvation” is a 6-week study of Romans 8, and was written by new-to-me author Trillia J. Newbell. Continue reading
A Powerful and Timely Message
Have you ever had an experience where it feels like God sends you a gift at just the right moment in your life, when He knows you need it most? I’ve had this happen to me several times recently… “This I Know: Trusting Your Unknown Future to a Known God” is a 6-Week Bible study written by Laura Dingman, and is part of the Bible Studies for Women series from Moody Publishers. I haven’t quite finished the study yet, but so far nearly every lesson has felt like a special message from God to me. Continue reading
A New In-Depth Bible Study from Moody
I may have mentioned this before already, but I absolutely ADORE Moody Bible Studies for Women! Whenever a new title in this amazing series is released, I am anxious to give it a try—and I’ve never been disappointed. The newest study I’ve been enjoying is entitled “Included in Christ: Living a New Story from Ephesians” by Heather Holleman. This 8-week Bible study takes students of the Word on a journey verse-by-verse through the book of Ephesians, and unpacks what it really means to answer the questions: “Who are we? Where do we belong? How do we live included in Christ?”.
A main focal point of this unique study is the practice of overcoming what Heather calls our “Shadow Narratives” with something far better: our “Savior Stories”. Continue reading
Understand Scripture in a Whole New Way! (Guest Review by H.B.E.)
I was thrilled to be able to review the “Cultural Backgrounds Study Bible”. After having my interest piqued several months ago to learn more of the historical and cultural context surrounding Biblical events, I was eager to learn more, and the “Cultural Backgrounds Study Bible” provided me with a way to do just that. For, as the subtitle says, it truly does bring the ancient world of scripture to life. Continue reading
