The Most Unique Novel I’ve Read In A Long While!

Oh, how I loved my introduction to an incredible author named Grace Hitchcock!!  “My Dear Miss Dupré” was such a unique, enjoyable, entertaining novel that I found myself thinking about it all through the day, waiting until I could finish up my duties and return to the world of New York high society, in the year of 1883.  As the first book in the new Bethany House series entitled “American Royalty”, this story definitely sets very high standards for the sequels to live up to.

Wow, The “Heirloom Secrets” Series Just Keeps Getting Better!

Wow, was this ever a humdinger of a sequel in the “Heirloom Secrets” series!  “Paint and Nectar” is the second book I’ve read by the incredibly talented Ashley Clark, (the first was “The Dress Shop on King Street”) and it completely blew me away.  This author manages to create poetry out of prose, and inspire readers with the themes of hope found in beauty, and the importance of preserving the past even as we move forward in the present.

A Fantastic Series Conclusion

“The Prince of Spies” is a perfect ending to the unforgettable “Hope and Glory” trilogy by Elizabeth Camden.  With fascinating portions of true history mixed in with satisfying, sweet, romantic stories for each of the characters we’ve come to know and love, this third novel is un-put-downable!  As per the universal signs of a good story, while reading this book I experienced:

Jody Hedlund Opens Her New “Colorado Cowboys” Series With A Bang!

Although it’s a little out of the ordinary from her typical setting and style, after reading Jody Hedlund’s newest release from Bethany House I would never guess that faith-based western romances aren’t her primary genre! “A Cowboy For Keeps” is the first book in her new “Colorado Cowboys” series, and is a must-read for fans of Christian Historical Fiction, particularly Westerns. (Basically, if you enjoy authors such as Karen Witemeyer, this story will be right at home on your shelf!) Continue reading

A Captivating Start to the “Heirloom Secrets” Series – by Debut Author Ashley Clark

Don’t you love it when a debut novel blows you away with a complex story that comes to life so vividly, it feels as though you lived it yourself? “The Dress Shop on King Street” is an absolutely beautiful time-slip tale by Ashley Clark, the first of a series called “Heirloom Secrets”, and one of the most poignant books I have read in a long while. Published by Bethany House, this story weaves pain and joy of past and present, while gently unveiling a theme of hope long held and dreams unfurled. Continue reading

The Adventures in Nome Continue…

The long-awaited day arrived, when the second story in “The Treasures of Nome” series was released! Tracie Peterson and Kimberley Woodhouse once again team up to release an unforgettable story from Bethany House Publishers, set in the northernmost state of Alaska during the 1890s. In “Endless Mercy” the youngest Powell sister tells her story as her dreams for a famous future collide with the tumultuous days of her past and present. Continue reading

A Unique New Story of Shipwrecks and Secrets

A new Julie Klassen novel is a great way to start the new year, wouldn’t you agree? “A Castaway in Cornwall” was published in December of 2020 by Bethany House, but it was the first novel I read in 2021 – and an intriguing story it was, too! Continue reading

Have A Tissue Handy For This One… Guest Review by Hayley

As soon as I read a new release by Roseanna White, it very often becomes a new favourite.  This one is certainly no different!

The conclusion to “The Codebreakers” series, “A Portrait of Loyalty” is truly a one-of-a-kind story.  I had never before heard of altering and re-creating photographs in the early 1900’s, and certainly not in relation to the war effort.  I had no idea what crucial roles photographers played in the intelligence division of the government during the war, making this book really fascinating.
