Jocelyn Green’s new releases are always at the very top of my reading list, simply because they are incredible stories filled with little-known historical insights, all told with a rich and masterful writer’s voice. “The Metropolitan Affair” is probably the best story I’ve read so far this year, and I highly recommend it to all fans of historical fiction. And one of the best parts? It’s only the first story in a new series, “On Central Park”, so we have more historic New York drama to look forward to soon! Continue reading

Anxiously Awaiting My Next Island Visit -Guest Review by Hayley
The second book in “The Secrets of the Isles” series, “To Treasure an Heiress” starts out within mere days of the first book’s ending. We are transported back to the exact time, place, and circumstances from where we left off, only with secondary characters becoming the leads. These books should definitely be read in order, as the second book very much builds on the first. Continue reading
This Story Is Like A Poem – Guest Review by Hayley

When I first opened the cover of “Set the Stars Alight”, I had no idea just how special of a book I had the privilege of reading. Now, having come to the end of this incredible masterpiece, I truly cannot tell you how much it has blessed me.

“Stolen art. A New Mexico archaeological dig. An abandoned dog. And a secret that’s worth killing for.” This summer, get ready for a story that will keep you reading until the wee hours of the morning, frantically flipping pages as the danger escalates and a tangled web of deception begins to unravel. “Fragments of Fear” is the newest Thomas Nelson release by Carrie Stuart Parks, and is definitely a thrill ride from start to finish. The Electrifying Conclusion of “The Tox Files”
At long last, the epic chronicle of “The Tox Files” comes to an electrifying climax and shocking conclusion! “Thirst of Steel” is the third book in the riveting series written by Ronie Kendig and published by Bethany House, and is undoubtedly the best and most compelling installment of them all. If you have enjoyed the previous hair-raising operations of Tox Russell and the rest of the Wraith team, you will not want to miss this final conflict, which “Will hinge on one of history’s most dangerous blades”… The sword of Goliath. Another Unique and Fascinating Story from Lynn Austin
With novels written by Lynn Austin and published by Bethany House, I’ve learned that you can generally count on three unique features:
– an unusual storyline that often spans several decades and is told from multiple points of view;
– fascinating characters who experience unique challenges in unheard-of-before circumstances;
– and themes that will inspire, challenge, and cause you to think more deeply about your own journey through life. Continue reading
Breathless Action, Ancient Discoveries, Deadly Secrets – A Can’t-Put-It-Down-Combination!
Ronie Kendig has a gift for penning stories that keep readers holding their breath as they rapidly flip the pages, desperate to discover what happens next. “Crown of Souls”, the second installment in “The Tox Files” series published by Bethany House, is no exception. Continue reading
A Fascinating but Violent Conspiracy
The first book in Ronie Kendig’s new series, “The Tox Files”, is not for the faint of heart. “Conspiracy of Silence” is a heart-thumping book packed with action, surprise, and extreme danger on nearly every page. Of course, when the back cover of the book states “This is the way the world ends”, excitement should be expected. Adding a unique twist, this novel integrates history, specifically Biblical history, as well. “Study the past to define the future” is a quote by Confucius, and as an epigraph before the prologue, it opens up “Conspiracy of Silence” with on-target precision. Continue reading
Understand Scripture in a Whole New Way! (Guest Review by H.B.E.)
I was thrilled to be able to review the “Cultural Backgrounds Study Bible”. After having my interest piqued several months ago to learn more of the historical and cultural context surrounding Biblical events, I was eager to learn more, and the “Cultural Backgrounds Study Bible” provided me with a way to do just that. For, as the subtitle says, it truly does bring the ancient world of scripture to life. Continue reading
