A Captivating First Story in “The Codebreakers” Series – Guest Review by Hayley

I absolutely loved Roseanna White’s “Shadows over England” series.  Therefore, when I realized “The Codebreakers” series was connected, I was thrilled!  Not only does “Number of Love” feature a young lady we already know and love from the previous series named Margot De Wilde, but it also gives us a glimpse into the lives of many of the other characters we came to love. A Thrilling Start to Ronie Kendig’s New Series

Master suspense author Ronie Kendig is back with a brand new series from Bethany House Publishers! “Storm Rising” is the first installment in “The Book of the Wars” series, and while it is a completely new story all it’s own, fans of “The Tox Files” will also recognize several familiar faces as the two stories overlap slightly. Continue reading

Continuing The Patchwork Family Story

I have been waiting for Karen Witemeyer’s “More Than Words Can Say” ever since her last book, “More Than Meets the Eye”, was released in the summer of 2018. This new story from Bethany House Publishers continues the story of the “Patchwork Family” series. We finally discover what happens next for Zach Hamilton, who we were introduced to in the previous story, and also meet Abigail Kemp, a young baker with a big problem. Continue reading

A Captivating Work of Art

I just finished reading a book that can be described in one word… wow. It was a work of art unlike anything I’ve read before. Continue reading

Powerful Start To A New Series From Jody Hedlund

It is always exciting when a favorite author begins a brand new series, don’t you think? This time it’s Jody Hedlund who has released the first installment of a new story from Bethany House Publishers, entitled “A Reluctant Bride” – book number one in “The Bride Ships” series. The fascinating premise of dozens of poor London women leaving behind all they know and setting sail for British Columbia, where potential husbands await them, is based on true events of the 1860s. This unique scenario, combined with Jody’s masterful skill at weaving a compelling story, allows us to quickly be swept away in a story of hope, healing, and love – all of which come to pass in the most unexpected of ways. A Story I Will Remember for Years to Come

“All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.” This famous quote by Julian of Norwich is the first line of words we read as we pick up Susie Finkbeiner’s new release from Revell, aptly titled “All Manner of Things”. As we continue reading a bit farther, we are swept away to the year 1967, where we meet a family and begin a journey that, within the first few pages, we know we will never forget. Continue reading

Erica Wiggenhorn’s Long-Anticipated New Bible Study Is Amazing!

I have been waiting a loooong time for Erica Wiggenhorn’s new release from Moody Publishers – and at last it is here! “Unexplainable Jesus: Rediscovering the God You Thought You Knew – An 8-Week Bible Study of Luke” is a powerful, 40-lesson study that challenges us to “step into the streets of Jerusalem and encounter the Jewish Rabbi who turned the world upside down.” Continue reading

One of the Most Memorable Novels of 2019

I just finished one of the most beautiful, memorable, and breathtaking books I’ve read yet this year (and I’ve read some pretty great books so far in 2019!). Rachel Hauck’s “The Memory House” was published by Thomas Nelson this past spring, and I simply didn’t want this enthralling saga to end. The vivid characters, the sweeping plot, the heart-wrenching themes, the two different time periods combining into one beautifully tangled tale of love and loss and forgiveness. . . It was captivating, to say the least! Continue reading

Fascinating and Challenging Biblical Fiction from Jill Eileen Smith

I always enjoy Jill Eileen Smith’s Biblical fiction. Each story transports us to ancient times, allowing us to see and experience history through the eyes of characters from the Bible. Her newest release from Revell is unique in that portions of the story were previously published as novella-style e-books, but have now for the first time been reworked and included together in a single, interwoven novel. “The Heart of a King: The Loves of Solomon” tells the stories of King Solomon and four of his wives: Naamah, Abishag, Siti, and Nicaula. As we are swept away by the powerful story, we inevitably are challenged to answer the question of “whether this king’s storied wisdom ultimately benefited him and those he loved . . . or betrayed them.” Continue reading

A Sweet, Humorous Celebration of Love

Have you heard of Lincee Ray? I had too, but had never visited her blog or read her previous book “Why I Hate Green Beans”. Her new Christian Living release from Revell, “It’s a Love Story: From Happily to Ever After” sounded so cute that I decided to give it a try without much knowledge about its author – and I’m glad I did!

“We all love to be loved. And we love to fall in love.” With these words, Lincee invites her readers on an “unabashed celebration of that loving feeling. . . Continue reading
