The “Hearts of Montana” Finale – Guest Review by Hayley

The “Hearts of Montana” series has come to and end with another adventurous tale entitled “Faith’s Mountain Home”!

Anyone who read the first two books in the series will have been waiting for this one, to finally see the outcome of a storyline that was very prominent in book number two.  The story of the twin-brothers-turned-outlaws is finally tied up in this series finale, and paints a picture of redemption, healing, and forgiveness.  Also Laura Hannon, who we have met previously, is the leading heroine of this book, and we learn more of her incredibly tragic past. A Beloved Fiction Author’s First Bible Study!

Authors of Biblical Fiction have a beautiful ability to bring well-known stories and characters to life in ways that expand our imaginations, and perhaps cause us to look at a portion of the Bible (that we may have read a hundred times before) in a new and exciting way. Tessa Afshar is a beloved author of many Biblical Fiction novels, and has now directed her knowledge and talents down a new path – as a writer for Moody Bible Studies for Women! “The Way Home: God’s Invitation to New Beginnings – A 6-Week Bible Study of Ruth” is an invitation to step into the courageous story of Ruth and Naomi as it comes to life like never before – from the pen of a fiction author. . . Connecting Old Testament Traditions to New Testament Truths

At first glance, the topic of Leviticus 23 may seem like an unlikely choice for the newest addition to the Moody Bible Studies for Women series… but Erin Davis brings this often-overlooked chapter to vibrant life by teaching us to dive in and uncover rich truths that reveal the beauty of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, in Old Testament writings. “7 Feasts: Finding Christ in the Sacred Celebrations of the Old Testament – An 8-Week Bible Study” is one of the most interesting and eye-opening studies I have had the pleasure of completing, for so many reasons. A Unique New Story of Shipwrecks and Secrets

A new Julie Klassen novel is a great way to start the new year, wouldn’t you agree? “A Castaway in Cornwall” was published in December of 2020 by Bethany House, but it was the first novel I read in 2021 – and an intriguing story it was, too! Continue reading

A Journey of Faithfulnes with Habakkuk

Have you ever experienced a particular book being dropped into your lap at precisely the time when you most needed it? That was the case for me with a new release in the Moody Bible Studies for Women series, written by Dannah Gresh. “Habakkuk: Remembering God’s Faithfulness When He Seems Silent – A 6-Week Bible Study” arrived in my mailbox at a very opportune time, and I have grown and learned so much because of this powerful book. Have A Tissue Handy For This One… Guest Review by Hayley

As soon as I read a new release by Roseanna White, it very often becomes a new favourite.  This one is certainly no different!

The conclusion to “The Codebreakers” series, “A Portrait of Loyalty” is truly a one-of-a-kind story.  I had never before heard of altering and re-creating photographs in the early 1900’s, and certainly not in relation to the war effort.  I had no idea what crucial roles photographers played in the intelligence division of the government during the war, making this book really fascinating. Continue reading

A Charming Christmas Conclusion!

What could be better than a farewell visit to our favorite little English village of Ivy Hill? A visit that takes place during the Christmas season, of course! Julie Klassen has given her readers a wonderful holiday gift by sharing one last story about the characters we came to know and love in her three-book series “Tales From Ivy Hill”, plus we get to meet a few new faces as well. Jaime Jo Wright’s Most Spellbinding Story Yet

“The Haunting at Bonaventure Circus” by Jaime Jo Wright was a book that I had to finish within a couple days! It is the kind of absorbing and evocative novel that works its way into your mind and will prevent you from thinking of much else until the mystery is solved and the characters receive closure (whatever that may look like… I will warn you, there are murders involved).

All of Jaime Jo Wright’s books have been stunning in their juxtapositions of the darkness and the light of this world; mistakes and mysteries of the past colliding with their results and consequences in the present. “The Haunting at Bonaventure Circus”, however, is my favorite because I could relate to these characters more than most of her other ones… Continue reading
