This Book NEEDED To Be Written

Paul Angone has written a book that I firmly believe everyone of my generation needs to read (and if we’re being honest, anyone living in this day and age would benefit from it!).  “Listen To Your Day: The Life-Changing Practice of Paying Attention” is a truly incredible book for two reasons: its profoundness, and its simplicity.  With his signature wit and wisdom, Paul helps us to uncover what is holding us back from our purposes, what is hindering us from whole-body health, and what is keeping us from truly feeling happy with the trajectory of our days. A Fair Warning – You Won’t Be Able To Put It Down!

Oh how I adored this book!  I’m not surprised, really, because Ann Gabhart’s name is on the cover and so OF COURSE it will be good, and it was!  “In the Shadow of the River” is one of my favorite Christian Historical Fiction novels I’ve read in awhile, perhaps because of the sheer uniqueness of the setting – and the talent of bringing these interesting characters’ stories to life.  I also appreciated how well-drawn the backstory was, and how childhood memories played such a foundational role in how the story played out in our heroine’s adult life. A Practically Perfect Addition to the Genre

I was so excited to find out that one of my favorite author-duos is back with a brand new series for all of their loyal fans!  “The Heart’s Choice” is the first story in Tracie Peterson and Kimberly Woodhouse’s new “Jewels of Kalispell” series, and what a fabulous start it was.  The story is compelling, the history is clearly well-researched and filled with fascinating tidbits, and as always the characters leap off the pages.  This story also features a murder mystery, and of course a sweet and lovely (and clean!) romance.   Continue reading →

A Story That Begins Before Time Itself

Step Back In Time To Sweetwater Crossing

The Best Story I’ve Read This Year!

Jocelyn Green’s new releases are always at the very top of my reading list, simply because they are incredible stories filled with little-known historical insights, all told with a rich and masterful writer’s voice.  “The Metropolitan Affair” is probably the best story I’ve read so far this year, and I highly recommend it to all fans of historical fiction.  And one of the best parts?  It’s only the first story in a new series, “On Central Park”, so we have more historic New York drama to look forward to soon!   Continue reading →

A Compelling Conclusion to a Tumultuous Tale – Guest Review by Hayley

As the last of “The Blackstone Legacy” novels, “Hearts of Steel” delivers quite an epic conclusion to the series. 

In “Hearts of Steel” we finally get a deeper look at Liam’s story, and the person he has become after being reunited with his family after decades apart.  Also, Maggie is quite a different heroine than the others in this series have been, as she comes from a poverty-stricken family rather than the Blackstone clan.   Continue reading →

Deep… Challenging… Inspiring!

I have decided that it is literally impossible for Kimberly Duffy to write a novel that is light, easy to read, or uninspiring.  She simply can’t do it!  And I mean this in the most admiring way possible…. “The Weight of Air” is a masterpiece that combines so many elements together into a novel that is deep, challenging, and awe-inspiring to the utmost.  It is unusual and complex, and probes the depths of human nature with themes such as what it means to be strong, where our worth comes from and who defines it, and how love can be portrayed in so many different ways – but not all of them true.  Continue reading →

The “Colorado Cowboys” Series Concludes
